Iodine/Ct Scan.
I’d be really grateful if anyone could answer a quick question. Thank you. My GP this morning has refused to issue my thyroid meds as I’m very overdue a thyroid blood test. However I’ve had a CT scan on a kidney this afternoon, and have just been told that any thyroid blood work will be inaccurate

Opioid Analgesics. Withdrawal from patients already prescribed long term.
I despair when I see this need for a person to get a "High" from a drug. These are the people who are causing medication to become higher class drugs and in the case of Codeine, which I am fighting the MHRA and Depth of health, to being withdrawn from sensible patients who benefit from relief of pain

T3 every other day
Someone has tried to take t3 one day yes one day no or every 3rd day? I was on 100 mcg levo, reduced by 25 and add 5 mcg t3. I tried for 3 weeks to take 5 mcg t3 and 75 mcg t4 every day but have a lot of hyper simptoms. I had Graves in 2012 then RAI, then hypo with 100 mcg levo. I am a poor converter

Iodine test for Hashimotos
I am planning on having a urine iodine test. Would being on liothyronine only interfere with this test or contradict it in any way please?

Graves’ disease - dietary question
Just had the Graves diagnosis confirmed with positive TSI antibodies and started 5mg carbimazole a little while ago . I’ve read iodine low diet can help - so no seafood / diary / eggs . I’ve also read no gluten can help . I’ve been gluten free for 3 weeks . Just wondering if I can now eat Soy as I’

Dietary iodine intake for Hashimoto's patients - yes or no?
I've read tons of available research re the above question, and I just want to sum it up to make sure I understand it correctly. Those who have increased antibodies like me, but whose thyroid hormone levels are normal so they don't take any meds for their thyroid, need 150 micrograms of iodine a day

Hello everybody! I have just joined this forum, and my fertility clinic has recommended that I take 200mcg iodine supplement every day to control my thyroid function, and to stop Levothyroxine 25mcg that I’m currently taking. Im pregnant and a bit uncomfortable to make this change- can you please recommend

After effects of Prostap, the menopause or codeine withdrawal? 🤦🏼♀️
Hi everyone, I’m struggling to work out what’s going on with my symptoms as they seem to be possible for all of the above! I had a total hysterectomy (kept my ovaries) on 13th March, my last Prostap injection two weeks before that and I’m working my way off 240mg of codeine. I get the worst hot sweats

? safe to wash iodine out straight away
I have had normal saline to wash eyes after injection and one nurse does it before adding tear drops and one adds tear drops first. When tear drops are done first I find I have very sore eyes for a couple of days, I can ask for saline first but wonder if it's safer to keep iodine there for a it to reduce

Stage 1 endo burnt out and still hurting! Why?
Hey I wonder if I could get a bit of perspective from those who have been through the mill with endo. When I awoke from my laparoscopy over 19 days now, my consultant said that he only found a small area of active endo and an old bit of endo and got rid of both with diathermy and that by the time he

How long can you take meds?
hello everybody. I’ve been taking 40 mg of carbimazol and 100mg of levotheroxin as my bock and replace therapy for Grave’s disease for about 4 years. My levels kind of stable and “in range”. But the endo is constantly bringing the question that I had to stop all meds. I don’t agree with that as I know

Fast symptom changes.

Then in Dec took a dip again TSH went from

Situations with high FT3, but normal within-range FT4 and TSH
One of my colleagues has answered a question of mine regarding what iodine deficency can result in, in chronic deficient regions. This is yet another expression of thyroid function under stress.
I see a lot of patients suffering from arrhythmia due to high-T3 syndrome (e.g. resulting from iodine deficiency

Hi All, I'm quite new to this site, although I have posted once before and quite a few members were kind enough to respond. I really need some advice about my current health situation as I feel things have deteriorated so much and so quickly for me that I simply don't know what to do or where to turn

Gluten Free after RAI
Would anyone share their experience of going GF? What kind of improvements did you experience and how long did it take? I have Graves treated with RAI in 2008, I have seen GF recommended a lot, I wonder what benefits I could expect if my thyroid has been ablated anyway. Thanks!

Blood tests
So after 3 phone calls to my endocrinologists secretary for a copy of my bloods taken in November , I have finally managed to get them. Even though I asked for full bloods this is all that I have been sent, so beggars can’t be choosers I suppose. Could someone give me a bit of advice on how these are

Update
Well I have been on my keto diet for 3 weeks and I have lost 11 pounds so far, I am walking 4 times a week. My RA seems to have calm down a lot and I am in less pain. I only take a codeine in the morning and sometimes at night instead of 4 times a day. It's been a lovely day today with plenty of sunshine

Hi all, long story short,I'm petrified that my op is going to leave me with a colostomy bag. Stage 4 endo, lap last August,op on 19th April with colon shave I think. If you had this how long is the recovery, I barely eat now because I can't stand the pain. Codeine or tramadol most days, my relationship
