Iodine test for Hashimotos

I am planning on having a urine iodine test. Would being on liothyronine only interfere with this test or contradict it in any way please?

I can't see any reason why it would interfere. As far as I remember the sample is collected from the first urine of the morning, so why not take your liothyronine after you've done your sample?

Other than that, ask the testing company. Hopefully you're doing the non-loading iodine test from Genova Diagnostics?

Thank you. Yes, that'll be the one. Are the tests quite reliable?

I've done it twice. The first time to check my conversion of T4 to T3 as blood test showed it was poor. Second time was after I'd added T3 for some time and there was a considerably increase in level. So I'd say the test is accurate and reliable from my own experience.
