Confused
My story started about a little over a half ago when I tested positive for the BRCA 2 gene. I started with mammograms and MRI every 6 months. Had one good mammogram and MRI. Then in January 2020 had a mammogram and a spot showed up. Had a biopsy and came back positive for breast cancer. Was told

Update on my sister
Many thanks to all of you who responded last time I posted a few days ago. My sister has had the results of her biopsy back and her cancer is progesterone and oestrogen positive and her2 negative. Could someone let me know what that means in terms of her treatment going forward. Last time she had BC

Radical prostatectomy successful - now what?
6 weeks after surgery and my recovery has progressed relatively well. My first post-surgery blood test showed my PSA score to be 'undetectable'. My urinary control has been excellent, I'm walking as much as 10 miles at a time without any ill-effects, and I've recently also began incorporating some mild

Has anyone everyone gone through Oncoplastic surgery?
I've just completed my 6 sessions of chemo, and the MRI and scans show no tumors, or if there are any none are visible. I am still being told I will need surgery to remove any/all residual tissue that was the tumor. I was given 3 options: 1) lumpectomy 2) oncoplastic surgery 3) mastectomy. I would

A Christmas to forget.
On the 14 December I got up as usual around 05.00Hrs, walked into my lounge tripped and fell on the hardwood floor. The result: a fractured femur. Somehow I managed to get to a phone to ring 111. After a major operation I was kept in hospital right up to the last day of Dec, simply because I lived alone

I had grade 3 HER2 positive breast cancer in my left breast and had a mastectomy and chemo and herceptine and have been on tamoxifen for 8 years. I am suffering with pain in my bionic boob and very itchy red décolletage which nothing seems to soothe and scratching doesn’t get rid of the itch. Does anyone

Sister with Breast cancer
Hi there my sister has just found out that she has a recurrence of breast cancer and I want to support her as best I can. She was first diagnosed about 15 1/2 years ago and had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy, there was no spread to any lymph nodes at the time. The recurrence is in the same breast but

Just getting started on the merry-go-round.
Hello to everyone; I'm an otherwise healthy and active 73 year-old. After a PSA score of 12.9 and a positive biopsy, I opted for a non-robotic radical prostatectomy from an expert surgeon. This was in early October 2019. To quote from the surgical report, "[i]The final pathology from his radical prostatectomy

Back in late 2015 and I had a cystectomy, few months later I was getting ready for my wedding and week before I had an ectopic pregnancy which I had to have emergency surgery to remove my tube. This is what I was told at least, I went to a scan a few weeks after and the ultrasound lady said I now have

PMR still here
Hi, think now after 8 years it's going to be a permanent thing. Down to 3mg Pred but sometimes get flare ups. On the amount I take what would be the best increase and taper. Also is it a good thing to get a regular (?) Bone Density Scan to check the Pred is not causing too many problems. ( take Adcal

I had my hysterectomy on valentines day. Have 4 laparoscopic incisions that have healed up nicely on the outside. I really ready for exercise but I am waiting until Friday 4 weeks to go walking. But by 6 weeks I want to get back to most of my exercises. I know no lifting or sit ups are allowed but is

Why Erleada after Lupron doesn't work and PSA is 24 with no signs of cancer? anywhere after all scans negative.
Please tell me your experiences with Erleada. My dad is resistant to Lupron shots after 5 years. Had radical prostatectomy 11 years ago. PSA is 24...and now on Erlaeda Chemo pills for 2 1/2 months and feeling fatigue he has never felt. All other scans show no cancer anywhere so does anyone have any thoughts

Hi all, I am so lucky to have found this site. You have helped me a great deal since my MBC diagnosis in October. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in June of 2009. I had a mastectomy on my right breast with clear margins and no lymph node invasion. I had 6 rounds of chemo but no radiation.
