Read Paper/Study on Radical Prostatectomy w/ Lymph Node Dissection (less as opposed to more /extended ) can’t find this study to read again
Does anyone have this study or paper that I briefly read on this topic and if it matters statistically of the amount of lymph nodes removed from surgery, ie: the amount of nodes removed over all compared to none, a few or extended. And also about the amount of lymph nodes removed, when it comes to

Radium 223 -Is this tumour flare?
I started Radium 223 therapy on Tuesday and since then I suffered from general stiffness and pain from the back of the pelvis down to the lower leg. I was wondering if anyone else had suffered these symptoms and if it was tumour flare? Thanks

Hi everyone. I had a complete thyroidectomy in 1990 . It went haywire when I was pregnant and until 2015 I was fit and healthy on 175mg thyroxine daily. Then it became irratic and I’ve struggled since with several changes to my thyroxine. I’ve just had the dose lowered again from 125mg daily, to 100mg

ART AACR Journal ; Effect of Sulforaphane in Men with BCR after Radical Prostatectomy
I have posted an NIH study with similar findings and have noted that I have taken 20mg of stabilized Sulforaphane for 2 1/2 years now (study was 60mg for M6 or 6 months)...who knows if my dosing is sufficient, but the length of supplementation is far greater. Regardless, I keep taking the supplement

After RP who goes over Pathology?
We messaged Surgeon through portal and asked how many lymph nodes removed. He states that pathology will tell us that…Does the medical oncologist go over the surgery pathology?. My husband has great physicians, but definitely confused by these mixed messages of whom is willing to give my husband answers

Only temporary respite from IV iron?
Back again - thought I was done with RLS after my iron infusion but seems like the respite was only temporary. Presently having symptoms from dawn until dusk, though some days are worse than others. Iron IV was 6 weeks ago; have just had bloods drawn for an iron panel so will see my neurologist when

Side Effects of Lupron plus Abiraterone
I'm 56 and 15 mos post radical prostatectomy. I'm on Lupron and Abiraterone plus prednisone. Aside from the 'normal' side effects of low/no libido, reduced testicle size, etc., I am losing much of my body hair. I'm referring to arm, leg, chest and armpits. Hair elsewhere is hanging in there, including

Low TSH
hello, I’m wondering if some of you knowledgeable people can give me some advice please. I feel under medicated on 75 mcg of levothyroxine, but the doctor insisted that I needed a blood test, even though they agreed my symptoms sounded like I needed an increase in meds. I’ve called the surgery and surprise

Determinants of PSA Response to Bipolar Androgen Therapy [BAT]
New study from Sartor et al below [1]. "Bipolar Androgen Therapy (BAT) is a novel therapy known to be effective in a subset of men with metastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC)." "Twenty five patients were non-responders and 16 were responders. Baseline characteristics between non-responders

Next Move?
Briefly, I had Radical Prostatectomy in February of 2018, ADT with Salvage Radiation ending in September of 2019 and undetectable PSA until August of 2022 when it increased to .09, then .12 in October, and .22 in December. Finally, .34 in March 2023. I just received this message from my Oncologist

Thyroid or Pituitary Problem?
Sorry in advance for the long essay! Desperatly hoping for some advice. I am a 30-year-old female suffering fatigue, brain fog & migraine with visual disturbances since July 2020, therefore I stopped the COCP after a 10-year use (which was prescribed for the management of menorrhagia). Since stopping

Decided to have a robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy - update
Reasons for my decision: I made a decision based on my understanding, see below. Radiation - no effect on urinary leakage, sexual function initially preserved but wanes for most, limited options for salvage - if cancer recurs treatment is palliative/non curative, long term radiation damage to bladder

Doctor put my b12 schedule on my records.
this week after a visit to the ED and changed symptoms related to my spine degenerative disease, I saw a different doctor at the practice, as she was going through my history, she asked about my B12 and It’s diagnosis, including the hospital discharge saying I did it EOD. I explained I had been diagnosed

Stopping vitamins before blood test - query
Hi all, I take a multi vitamin which includes b vitamins and methylfolate etc - I am going for bloods tomorrow for Thyroid and Folate - I know I have read on her previously about stopping vitamins (containing B2?) up to a week before repeat bloods, I haven't taken mine in a good 5 days, I just wondered

is active b12 a better indicator than free b12
hi all my recent total b12 test came in at 468 (range 179-2000) so just 17% through range. I take sublingual b12 drops daily, a vitamin b complex tablet and I had a b12 shot a few weeks ago and so wasn’t expecting it to drop. I got my active b12 test back today and it says 116 (range 37.5-150) so
