Stopping vitamins before blood test - query

Hi all,

I take a multi vitamin which includes b vitamins and methylfolate etc - I am going for bloods tomorrow for Thyroid and Folate - I know I have read on her previously about stopping vitamins (containing B2?) up to a week before repeat bloods, I haven't taken mine in a good 5 days, I just wondered what the reason for this was?

It's Biotin (B7) that should be stopped for 3-7 days before a blood test. This is because when biotin is used in the testing procedure (which most labs do) then it can give false results. There is no problem with the other B vitamins.
