Daughter just diagnosed with early cirrhosis at age 24
I'm her father and I
quit
drinking
12 years ago after 20 hard years of it! My first cousin ( who was like my brother ) I was an only child but in 2004 he passed away at age 39 of cirrhosis 2 weeks before he was to get a transplant!

Liver pain with clean tests and scans.
It doesn’t really get worse when I eat and I
quit
drinking
for two months and it didn’t do anything. Does anyone have any clue?

Question on labs….
While I was on eliquis, I
quit
drinking
for the first 4 weeks and then it was 2-3 drinks a day for a couple nights. So I’m not sure what the dr is worried about. Is slightly elevated ferritin and high AST ratio enough to worry about ALD ? I’m not a tee-totaler but not out of control either.

Dry mouth and other symptoms.
I
quit
drinking
after my first feeling of soreness in my liver, and unfortunately I did it without a proper detox, but I made it through that. Ever since, however, I've been having a constant dry mouth and a complete loss of the hunger sensation.

Hepatic Encephalopathy with F1 Fibrosis?
I immediately
quit
drinking
and haven't touched a drop since. The nausea subsided but I then developed muscle twitching and for a period of time my limbs would randomly jerk.

Liver function and Atorvastatin
Since my heart attack I have cut down drastically on
drinking
alcohol and have
quit
smoking. The only other change I have made to my life/lifestyle is taking the meds. Has anybody else noticed a similar response to taking Atorvastatin?

2nd Xmas w/zero alcohol. It gets better🎄❤️
I
quit
drinking
last September and haven’t had even one sip since. I was very sick and could have died. I let it get that far. I was past the point of no return. Now I am still around the stuff all the time.

New here.
I’ve got to
quit
at least
drinking
alone, if not
quit
altogether. I’m so hungover right now I can’t eat anything and I’ve just been dry heaving hard all day. It’s terrible. I’ve never tried AA but am thinking of trying it. Any support would be appreciated.

First question from a newbie, about fatty liver diagnosis and results.
The doctor said just work out more, lose that excess weight, reduce, or better,
quit
drinking
. But he didn’t ask for a follow up. His diagnosis was “fatty liver.” I know this is a big warning sign, but not sure how dire that warning is. What kind of fatty liver is it? Simple?

ALT Up Again
I did this for six months and
quit
drinking
completely. My bloods stayed within range until the most recent blood test which showed an alt of 36 which the lab says is 4 points too high for a woman.

1yr 3 months Sober but still Scared
It’s said that you’re supposed to feel a lot better when he
quit
drinking
but I still felt very tired and I could not use the washroom properly my guts were all messed up. I now wake up super alert and regular in the morning and it makes my days much better.

Spleen and Liver pain
So my question is, will these pains settle down now that I’ve stopped
drinking
? I’ve
quit
drinking
for good. I now know what it feels like to seeing your child dying or close to it. So I’m strong enough to handle anything without alcohol.

I decided to quit
I have decided today to
quit
drinking
. I am terrified even after normal labs and a normal ultrasound I think I did damage. If a liver shows normal size and no focal lesions I’m assuming that’s good but I think they may have missed something. How can I not have fatty liver??!!

Anxiety over liver. To have ultrasound or not.
Quit
drinking
a few days earlier. Blood tests were ok. Then I became very anxious, nauseous, couldn’t eat. Went back to the G.P and asked what I could do to decrease my anxiety. She gave me meds for acid reflux and a referral for an ultrasound.

AST 71, ALT 60, 1.183 ratio.
Going forward I am going to
quit
drinking
altogether. I just want to know how serious this is and how worried I should be. Thanks.

Very disappointed in myself
I
quit
drinking
for 5 months but I was dying with anxiety until I had an ultrasound which came back normal. Of course when I got the all clear from the ultrasound I predictably started binge drinking again usually twice a week. Now here I am 8 months later and the anxiety is back.

2nd cycle - icsi instead of ivf - zona pellucida too thick?
Although I have now
quit
both smoking and
drinking
, I have done both (quite indulgently) most of my adult life and can't help but being livid with myself for not taking better care of my body.
