Topic of the Month: August - Insect Bites
I understand it is the
quinine
in the tonic that helps.” - “I don’t go anywhere without first covering myself in
Boots Once-a-Day Insect Repellent
. Having had two bites in the last two years, both of which ended up turning into cellulitis and required IV antibiotics.

Circulation Booster
I have tried various "cures", these range from
quinine
tablets to clomazapin. Three years ago I persuaded my doctor to let me try Ropinirole, at first this worked well, not perfect, but better. The only trouble is that the dose has to be increased as time goes by.

Alternative medicines
Also my mum is struggling with
quinine
(gives headache and nausea) and I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any alternatives to this - i am sure there must be.

Restless leg
Got some tonic water today as I'm told the
quinine
in it helps. Any other things I can try?

Week 7 Run 1, Calf pain sorted, I think.
Rested the leg for a few days, rubbed deep heat into it (don't know if that helped but it felt good anyway), drank Tonic Water(slim-line)
quinine
in it, (supposed to be good for muscle cramps), put some special insoles into my trainers which stabilized my feet (try these first before I change my trainers

Prof Hughes' July blog
The Sjogrens aches and pains (and fatigue) almost always respond to Plaquenil (a
quinine
-based ‘natural’ medicine). This patient also had ‘food allergy’ symptoms suggestive of possible celiac disease – another autoimmune condition in which blood tests can be notoriously unhelpful.

What a couple of months
It was like my whole leg was in a constant cramp, numerous doctors came out to see me from my GP, but they had no idea what it was so they just gave me stronger and stronger pain medication and some
Quinine
.

cramp - quinine and...?
I am on
quinine
sulphate at night but it doesnt always help, i eat 2 bananas a day as well as tomatoes. I can cope with most cramps but this one was quite scary as it had a definite effect on my lungs and was triggered by a coughing session after waking for a neb at 3am!
