confusion
about this obviously meets with different reactions, as while some are sympathetic, they don't feel they can offer any help: others don't recognise fibromyalgia as a 'legitimate' diagnosis and offer treatment for neurosis.. and others offer medications that are more usually given for the treatment of

Has anyone had short episodes of psychosis?
I have just resently had two episodes of PP and on both occasions they
psychosis
only lasted around 48 hours. The first episode was more dramatic than the second one. Has any one else had such a sort episode of the
psychosis
?

Hello all, My question relates to how people have 'moved on' from their episodes of PP - is it ever a good idea to look back and remember?
However I've not really come to terms with what happened - my memory of the
psychosis
is extremely patchy.

Nobody to talk to anymore :-(
I haven't mentioned my recent
psychosis
episodes to anybody though so I will explain that to them when I go to the doctors.

Did anyone else feel detached from the baby during pregnancy - More like ante-natal psychosis?
I'm now pregnant with my second child, after having a torrid time 7 years ago with my daughter... and looking back, i think a lot of my issues started during the pregnancy. I was already suffering with anorexia and couldn't shake the thought that the baby was just making me fat, and the resentment

Getting through pps
I don't think enough people talk about depression or postpartum
Psychosis
, I was lucky I had family and friends to help me get better, sometimes it feels like a long process but have come such a long way from thinking all sorts of strange things about my baby and thinking there was no way out ending

Have you all heard about a Birth Afterthoughts Service that may be available in your NHS Trust?
Last Thursday I went to the JR Hospital in Oxford, where I gave birth in Sept 2011, to meet with a midwife in their Birth Afterthoughts Service. I had had a very traumatic time giving birth that resulted in an emergency c-section & a baby in Special Baby Care Unit that had 2 seizures within 24 hours

Opening Up About Postpartum Psychosis
I recently had the opportunity to share a piece of my story about disclosing my experience with postpartum
psychosis
. I stand with all of you that have been through the hell of postpartum
psychosis
. I hope you may find the information encouraging.

Anyone feeling quite 'shook up' by the passing away of Karen Simpson?
On the same note I still remember after the
psychosis
the most crippling depression I have ever felt.

Possible paranoid schizophrenia? Please read!
I made a list last night, as I believe I am in a
psychosis
episode right now, it is present the entire time I'm awake. I have terrible insomnia, have had for about 3 years but even worse now, insomnia is also a big symptom of schizophrenia. So any way (waffling on!)

Am I struggling with this psychosis?
My symptoms have grown to resemble severe
psychosis
, paranoia, altered perception with reality, ect. I chew family members out and stir up problems. I feel like a raving lunatic! For one day and one day only. And, I wake up the next morning and have started my period.

What help is available?
The mother and baby unit is a significant distance away - I can't afford the travel - how do I visit my wife six my 5 week old baby daughter? SeparatedWhat financial help is there so families aren't separated? Also, what support mechanisms are in place for family members who have to deal with PPP?

Has anyone ever tried Topiramate tablets, anti-epileptic medication before for hemiplegic migraine.
Is it worth risking some really serious conditions such as
psychosis
and ataxia. Mmmm I'm not convinced about this yet!

She has been told by her boss... that she can only keep patients with
psychosis
and schitzophrenia? Spelling? And that her depressives will have to be supported only by their GP's!

Did anyone else worry about the bond with their second child?
I found it very difficult to bond with my baby at the beginning as the onset of PP started more or less straight away after giving birth. I didn't really realise that I had had a baby as I was so poorly and the baby went to live with my partner and his mum for a few days. I still feel very guilty about

Can't find what you're looking for?
As this community grows, I realise it's getting harder to quickly find the info we're looking for. You can search on the tags (if they've been added to the posts) but for ease I've listed a few of the popular questions here. There have been some really excellent tips, responses & quality info so I'd

Myxedema- The forgotten Test for Hypothyroidism.
Not uncommonly, the emotions become unbalanced, occasionally genuine
psychosis
develops. The person may then become depressed or, more rarely, maniacal and have outbreaks of passion, rage, and even fury. Various forms of distressing obsessions have been recorded as well.
