Postpartum psychosis

My daughter gave birth to her baby boy in march (our 1st grandchild) I was at the birth and almost immediately saw a change in her. She was begging for help and asked not to be discharged she wasn't ready, but they discharged her home anyway. The birth itself was traumatic but she started fading away

Advice needed please 2nd pregnancy

I had puerperal psychosis some years ago when I had my child and a few years afterwards another short period of psychosis following an operation. I responded well to medication.

Re-Admitted to MBU

I had postnatal psychosis/a manic episode in the summer. My community team felt that an inpatient stay would help me and the doctors find a treatment plan. They have said I need to be in for three of four weeks. I know from the outside that seems like a short time in the life of my family.

undiagnosed post natal psychosis

I just worry if I did have psychosis and it wasn’t treated, would I still show mild symptoms?

Wondering if I have the wrong diagnosis...

Based on reading APPs symptoms of postpartum psychosis, I believe I have been given the wrong diagnosis of postnatal depression (I believe this can run alongside psychosis or come after the psychosis) At my peak, I whole heartedly believed that my daughter needed to be taken away from me because I couldn't

PPP and menopause

She started experiencing menopause symptoms and started HRT, and altering her meds, and then spiralled into a massive psychosis episode, with echoes of the PPP.

Psychosis during pregnancy

Hi ladies, I just wanted to ask if anyone has had psychosis during their pregnancy rather than, or as well as after birth ? I’m currently pregnant with my 2nd and had ppp with my first 13 years ago.

Relapse of PP yet not had a baby second time

I am 3 weeks into the psychosis. The meds seem to be kicking in now. But it’s all so frightening as I am at a mental health ward. I feel I can change and adapt to this new world I am living in. I’m back on olanzapine which I am not too thrilled about but I know it will get me better like last time.

Struggling so much - are these symptoms normal?

I don’t know if any of this is “normal” under psychosis or if I’m just now like this.  Also, I feel like I’m going through the motions with my baby. I feel so awful about this.

Guess who’s back

When I was discharged 4 days later I began to have manic symptoms which developed into psychosis and was admitted into a psychiatric ward. That was 6 months ago and I am still taking olanzapine. I feel totally flattened.

I'm also feeling distrustful of family and friends and lost my confidence aswell as embarrassed at some of the things I did and said during my psychosis. I had mental health issues before the psychosis. How long did everyone's psychosis last?

Being confident as a mother after post partum psychosis

My husband's brother and his wife are having a baby, baby is due in May. I don't feel jealousy as such. I would feel able to admit to feeling jealous on here because I know many members have been very open about the mixture of feelings they have in their recovery and further on in the future. I am rambling
