Hi All, This past October I had another psychosis and was hospitalized. It came out of nowhere, triggered I think by reading a book, as was my first psychosis. I am so devastated as I now have an official bipolar diagnosis. It feels impossible, and like a promise that life will be very hard.

How long did it take for you to regain your cognitive function after psychosis? I have started a job and find it harder to retain information now. Did anyone else notice a decline in cognitive function post psychosis? Is there anything I can do to help?

Hi Does anyone suffer with really bad nightmares post postpartum psychosis/coming off anti-psychotics? I was also diagnosed with PTSD after my psychosis.

hello, I had PP almost 12 weeks ago and I constantly worry that I could get another psychosis. The APP guides suggest preparing for a relapse, but does that mean another psychosis? How likely a person who had no other mental illness is to have psychosis again?

My psychosis happened a year ago. I’ve been fortunate enough to remain well. Next year my husband and I will be trying for another baby. My psychiatrists are confident that they can keep the psychosis at bay by starting antipsychotics immediately after birth.

I'm still struggling to accept that everything I went through was psychosis, so I'm finding it really hard to move on. I'm not sure it's the right medication for me as I often think about the psychosis and feel like something was done to me at the hospital as part of an experiment.

Has anyone else experienced severe paranoia after psychosis? I'm afraid to go out on my own in case someone is out to get me. Has anyone felt this way and recovered from it? If so, what helped?

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone here has had treatment resistant psychosis and has had to take clozapine or have ect treatment? I'm still struggling with a couple of delusions and was hoping to hear some success stories from others.

Previous to the birth of my daughter , I was thought to have stress induced psychosis (3 times, two times sectioned) which was undiagnosed Bipolar at the time.

She had what we know now was a post partum psychosis within 24hrs of giving birth. We also now realise that the extreme anxiety she experienced after her first child was probably also a psychosis, and she has had on and off mild mental health issues since her teenage years.

Slowly stated paranoia, agitation, talking same things again and again, thinking her son is a incarnation of a GOD, she would not accept that she got Postpartum Psychosis, and would not take medication, the whole family tried talking to her, she would not listen to no one.

I am starting to believe that my post partum psychosis forced me to press pause on [blow up actually] a life that desperately needed redirecting.

Hi everyone I just wanted to let everyone know that we will have a meet up on Zoom on Thursday 27th June, 7.30-9pm for anyone who has experienced psychosis in the perinatal period and lives in the UK. It will be an informal and friendly meet up, to share experiences and support each other.

Grief with lack of sleep seemed to have contributed to psychosis.

My son is 3 years old and very soon after he was born, I was diagnosed with post partum psychosis and depression. I was extremely fortunate that I was already on the radar during the pregnancy due to some other factors, and that my midwife and partner spotted I wasn't myself once my son was born.

Since I've had psychosis I have noticed that I can't feel my muscles when I work out and no longer get any soreness or aches, whereas previously I would get a lot. I even had a massage and could barely feel it, only felt skin deep sensations and not the deep tissue feeling that I'm used to.

I'm 5 years on from my Post- Partum Psychosis episode. I'm having an awfully tough time mentally and physically. My son has lived with his dad for nearly 3 years now due to my mental health never stabilising after ppp.

Four weeks later my partner was admitted to a mother and baby unit as a medical emergency and has been initially diagnosed with Post partum psychosis. Initially she was convinced the baby had been swapped and wasn’t actually ours, she even thought I was in on the conspiracy.
