Focal Therapy?
Thanks so much to those of you who shared your stories and advice. I had good news is that my MRI indicated that the cancer is contained to my prostate, though it is quite enlarged. The bone scan showed some abnormality in the upper part of the spine, so I am scheduled for an MRI of that area this Thursday

Graves Disease
Hi everyone. Little old me asking for advice again. My TSH receptor AB tests have come back positive for Graves. 1.9 (range 0 to 1). I’ve copied my most recent other results below. And I’ve had another thyroid function test today for which the results should be back tomorrow. My ultrasound scan showed

C Reactive Protein
Hi everyone. I’m really struggling with pain and stiffness at the moment. On my last blood test my C Reactive protein was 5.9 (range <5.0). Is this just a response to the autoimmune condition?

The following paragraph is from Dr. Myers Prostatepedia blog (11/30/17) [A]: "In the famous PREDIMED trial, 7,447 subjects who were at high risk for cardiovascular disease but who did not have it were randomized into three groups. One group went on a low fat diet. The other two groups went on a Mediterranean

confused about Prostap injections
Hi I've been to see the gynaecologist today about my endometriosis, she said to try swimming and yoga...then suggested prostap injections. My Doctor had referred me for a hysterectomy but gynaecologist said I need to try injections first. I don't know what to do? any advice would be appreciated x

Proton beam vs. x-ray therapy
I posted the following message in the Advanced Prostate Cancer group, but I think it is of even more interest to patients who are newly diagnosed and not yet treated, so I'm posting it again here. -------------------------------------------------------------- I was lucky enough to be recommended by Darryl

Proton beam vs. x-ray therapy
I was lucky enough to be recommended by Darryl and Malecare (thank you for that) to participate as a "consumer reviewer" for the "Department of Defense, Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, Prostate Cancer Research Program". There were about 15 scientists, mainly professors of medicine

Should I consider Proton Therapy
I am 75 and otherwise in good shape, I had Radical Prostatectomy in 2015 now 2 years and 3 months later my PSA has been rising, presently on Hormone meds (Casodex) to reduce PSA then should I go with Radiation or the much greater expense (for lodging etc) and have Proton-therapy 350 miles away? Comments

Proton Therapy
I'm here looking for encouragement and knowledge My dad has prostate cancer, he was diagnosed in 2011, They told him since day one he did not have many options because his cancer was extremely aggressive. We looked alternative treatments and we found immunotherapy. He is still doing that and he did HIFU
