Robotic Prostatectomy
After speaking to my urologist he indicated that due to my age robotic
prostatectomy
surgery was the best option as radiation and then surgery, should I need it later, is rough and often doesn't come out well for most. My research shows that this is true.

I have had a radical
prostatectomy
(2010) and radiation plus hormone deprivation (2012). Cancer came back this year and I am starting with Provenage and wish it had been my first choice instead of my last. Provenge alters your white blood cells so that your immune system will fight the disease.

EricE had his robotic-assisted radical
prostatectomy
on April 12, 2018, in Seattle, Washington by Dr. Porter. He has recovered nicely except for the impotence. We are working on ways around that.

I had a rising PSA after robotic
prostatectomy
in April 2016 with a Gleason 4+3+T5 & pT2C, clear margins, appeared organ confined. PSA climbed continuously since the procedure with current PSA of 0.87 with doubling time of 5 months.

Small-Cell PCa.
The predominant AR-Vs detected were AR-V3, AR-V7 and AR-V9, with the expression levels being significantly higher in CRPC cases compared to
prostatectomy
samples. Out of 25 CRPC metastases that expressed any AR variant, 17 cases harboured expression of all three of these AR-Vs.

Doctors should avoid saying ‘cancer’ for minor lesions – study
Similarly, in localised prostate cancer where active surveillance has been a recommended management option for many years, studies show that internationally most men still prefer radical
prostatectomy
or radiation therapy.

Leaning towards radical prostatectomy
I continue to do my research but also got additional feedback from my urological oncologist - my clinical stage T2b cancer (3+4, 2 cores out of 12) is showing up on the right side during biopsy but induration/nodules showing up on left side. He is fine with me getting additional opinions, including

My dilemma is I had a radical
prostatectomy
in August 2015. My Gleason was 9 out 10. I had 39 radiation treatments. I did 2 rounds of Lupron. I had heavy incontinence. I had surgery of AUS implant in February this year. Last week I had to have emergency surgery to have the AUS removed.

Recovering from Robotic Prostate Removal
While certainly not pleasant, after 1-week, recovery from my
prostatectomy
has been ok. Some pain, but certainly manageable. Planning to have my catheter removed this Friday - then fly home from Houston to Atlanta.

New here - considering treatment options
I am seriously considering
prostatectomy
but worried about side effects - I am very active (running, biking, weight lifting, etc.).

Update on post-prostatectomy issues and follow-up
One thing the urologist didn't tell me was that penis would be shorter post-
prostatectomy
- I think I lost about 1/2-1 inch of the flaccid penis, and after being circumcised as a kid, almost have a non-circumcised penis again!

Diagnosed 1 month ago metastatic to bone; now on hormone therapy. I'm new here.
Will also have robotic
prostatectomy
surgery in few months as part of trial. Have been taking numerous supplements for years, some of which may have been harmful???

Hi, I am 55 and have had
prostatectomy

My Coloplast Titan Penile Implant Experience.
I was implanted with the Titan IPP (Inflatable Penile Prosthesis) in 2007 after developing ED Post-
Prostatectomy
in 2004. The Titan completely corrected my ED and restored both my sex life and the emotional bond with my wife. We have both been fully enjoying it for the past 10+ years and counting.

Phase II randomized study of neoadjuvant and adjuvant abiraterone acetate+ ARN-509 for intermediate-high risk prostate cancer
It includes 6 months of ADT prior to
prostatectomy
. Arm 1A gets Lupron + abiraterone acetate + apalutamide. Arm 1B gets Lupron + abiraterone acetate. Has anyone heard of this study? What do you think? I'm inclined to hit this hard. Are there other treatments that I should consider?
