Getting ready for clinical trial
I was randomized into the additional treatment arm of the trial, and I didn't want the
prostatectomy
so I picked the radiation. This last Monday I spent almost an hour in the gynecologist chair, with an ultrasound wand in my exit port while two ladies poked needles in my perineum.

Break after only 12 months of Eligard.
Three months after my radical
prostatectomy
, I had a PSA of 0.22 and three months later, 0.21. My oncologist then started me on an 18-month Eligard treatment. After the 4th of 3-month injections (my PSA had dropped to zero) the oncologist said that I didn't need any more.

Prostatectomy and Ejaculation
I'm having my
prostatectomy
tomorrow. I asked my doctor if it was ok for me to have sex before surgery and he said no problem. But I'm wondering if I should have an ejaculation 24 hours before surgery. Does anybody know if it is a problem?

Lymph’s nodes relapse
He first went through radical
prostatectomy
and since his nadir psa was 0,23 and pathological report was not good he got adjuvant radiotherapy plus one year of lupron. His psa became undetectable but then started to rise again last year from 0,1 to 0,63.

Need Advice
I had a
prostatectomy
, 35 rounds of radiation, and a yrs worth of Lupron. My yr was up last October, and at my check up in January , I was undetectable . I'm back in the gym, lifting weight, and like to lift. I don't know the in and outs of why it's so important, other than the obvious.

Where have you gone Joe testosterone?
In November of 2019 my testosterone level was 409 even after a robotic
prostatectomy
4 months earlier. Then I began a year of ADT therapy that included 37 sessions of radiation to the pelvic area. During the year on ADT my PSA became undetectable as my testosterone dropped to <6.

Gleasson 6 and PSA 24, Prostatectomy?
My doctor is suggesting to have a
prostatectomy
. He states that a gleasson 6 would not make the PSA 24. The PSA test was repeated twice in the last 6 months . PSA went from a 10 to 24 in a two years. Had a MRI/ultrasound fusion biopsy twice.

Rising PSA following Radiation
I’m 71, in good health otherwise, and a

seems drastic. Thank you for any information you can share.

Safety and Efficacy of Virtual Prostatectomy With Single-Dose Radiotherapy in Patients With Intermediate-Risk Prostate Cancer
FYI: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamaoncology/fullarticle/2777068 Not sure I like the use of the term "virtual"
prostatectomy
. Several years ago something called a "brush biopsy" was promoted to dentists.

Newly diagnosed and looking for advice....
If that is the case he would strongly suggest a radical
prostatectomy
. I find out the results of this testing in May. Questions… Should I still send the cores to Dr. Epstein even though I’m having the genetic testing done? I am leaning towards focal ablation such as HIFU, TULSA PRO, or FLA.

PSA tests--Total vs. Ultrasensitive after radical prostatectomy
It has been ten years since I had a radical
prostatectomy
(with negative margins). At my surgeon's suggestion, I have had yearly "total" PSA tests since then but not since 2019 so I'm overdue.

Gary's Case
On January 28th my oncologist said I had prostate cancer and needed to have a
prostatectomy
within 3 months. My Gleason score is 3+3=6, my biopsy should 2 positive samples out of 12 with less then 2% in one and less then 10 % in another.

There IS Life after Prostate Cancer
It has been 16 years for me with 3 surgeries,( a
prostatectomy
, and TWO Cryo-ablations) 38 sessions of Radiation, and several years of Lupron. If anyone has questions, just ask. I am a Cancer Advocate for a local Cancer Hospital.
