Gasoline?
A question for anyone who has found an answer... From 2018, when diagnosed, I have been told by doctors, urologists and oncologists that; "Testosterone, in prostate cancer, is like gasoline on a fire!" When I first heard this it seemed dubious since what I "knew" about PCa was that young men with

Ultra sensitive psa
As my MO basically doesn't want to engage in conversation during my 5 min appointments as he feels it's an insult to his managing my case I was wondering after 7 rounds of docetaxil why he decided to do an Ultra sensitive PSA instead of just a good o PSA. I've not reached an undetectable number as of

PSA rising after salvage RT. What next?
My PSA is low but on the rise. <.006 in January and .042 now. I'm not on ADT. See bio for history. I hate to stand on the sidelines and watch it rise. Is there something I can do, or do I have to wait until PSA rises then have a scan? What is SOC? Your comments are appreciated.

Is this decision right for me
I had a PSMA pet scan on 7/16/2024. The result shows a single tumor in my left lung measuring 8mm. My MO wants me to have the tumor radiated and monitor the PSA and its doubling time. A little background, I'm just short of 83 years old. I had prostatectomy in 2009, PSA undetectable until 2017. I had

Ketogenic diet alters the epigenetic and immune landscape of prostate cancer to overcome resistance to immune checkpoint blockade therapy.
Overall, this strikes me as too hypothetical for us to apply, but what do I know? "Overall, these findings illuminate a potential clinical path of using HDACi and optimized KD regimens to enhance ICB therapy for PCa." HDACi = histone deacetylase inhibitor [To date, four HDAC inhibitors, Vorinostat

What treatment next as PSA increasing on Daroludamide & Lupron
My PSA is increasing after a year on Daroludamide and Lupron.
Questions:
1) can the Daroludamide be increased?
2) what is the next treatment after this to reduce PSA?
Sincere thanks.

Gamma Delta CAR T for Bone Metastatic Prostate Cancer: first trial at Moffit
Another trial of something that targets bone metastasis, and works even better if you are under zolendronate . "Most importantly, gamma delta T cells are unique in that they are most efficient when combined with a drug (zoledronate) that is commonly used to protect the bone in patients with bone metastatic

Humbly (considering the 1/3rd's) I have to say I am very happy to say I responded to Pluvicto. Updated my BIO finally.
Doesnt take long I think to realize in the journey that just getting a response to a treatment is what you want because the flip side there may be no response at all to any particular treatment. The sorcerer is standing over me having just waved his/her wand over my head. Since the beginning 11/2019

Assessing the Benefit of CAR T-cell Therapies for mCRPC
Prostate
cancer was a big
disease
on our minds. We’ve begun research around developing a CAR T-cell therapy for prostate cancer with support from Prostate Cancer Foundation and landed on prostate stem cell antigen [PSCA] as the tumor antigen that we were targeting.

PSA Rising and MRI Negative
A recent PET Scan showed cancer cells in the

disease
. The Oncologist is checking labs, and will start my husband on HT.Question for the group. Why would PET scan pick-up cancer cells, and not the MRI? TY The Inquisitive One

My husband has metastatic prostate cancer. We went through all the treatments including 5 pluvicto treatments. Even though his scan shows improvement in some areas it continues to spread. Maybe this is due to no meds such as Xtandi to stop the spread. I'm trying to get more information by reading people's

How about eating a healthy snack that might help fight PCa. Lotus seeds (Nelumbo nucifera) also known as makhana contain Neferine, see below
Neferine inhibits proliferation and migration of human prostate cancer stem cells through p38 MAPK/JNK activation Suat Erdogan, Kader Turkekul First published: 11 May 2020 https://doi.org/10.1111/jfbc.13253 Abstract Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are one of the significant causes of cancer treatment failure

Can medication elevate the PSA?
My PSA at time of the cancer diagnosis was 5.56. Being in the hospital right now with several meds surging through me, the PSA is at 348.00. Is this a normal reaction?

Bone scan/CT sensitivity?
My husband has only ever had regular nuclear bone scan and CT. PSA is now rising over 6 months from .45 to.9. At what PSA level would repeat scans be likely to image progression? I am aware of PSMA and this might come down the line but currently from what I read from TA and others is that we need comparable

Does PSA drop after starting ADT tell us anything?
My husband started Firmagon shots a month ago. Before starting his PSA was 5.9. It was tested a few days ago and it’s 1.4 now. Does this tell us anything of any significance? Thanks!

Addition of an ARSI to standard ADT significantly increases the risk of fractures and falls in men with prostate cancer

PSA undetectable
After surgery PSA should be undetectable. What does it mean. Once the lab give 0.03, once 0.04. I guess it s the lab (standard error of the machine), but what is the limit of the lab and when should i consider that THERE IS a PSA. Why is PSA still detectable after surgery should nt it be 0.00 ?
