Promacta

The first time I had less then 10 for a couple weeks which was brought back to normal with IVIG and promacta. I was on medication for a month then none at all. Platelets went back to normal for 14 months before less then 10 again. Shorter time to return to normal 2 weeks after IVIG and promacta.

It took about 3 weeds of promacta and on IVig treatment to get them back to normal where I have remained for the last 10 months. So I do not want to mess that up by taking the vaccines again even though my hematologist is not sure that is what trigger a reccurence.

All these weeks later (October now), I've discovered I'm steroid resistant (dexamethasone and prednisone seemingly did nothing for me), and promacta (which I've been on for over a month) doesn't seem to be doing anything noticeable for my counts.

So do I start treatment - likely A only, A&V, or V&G, or A&O, or O&V (Gazyva is not recommended if platelets are less than 70K) - or do I try to deal with platelets with Rituximab, prednisone and IVIG and possibly Dexamethazone and kick the can down the road again on W&W, or PROMACTA or simply try some

My hematologist has tried Promacta and prednisone. When my prednisone dosage was down to 5 mg with 75 mg of Promacta my platelet counts tanked. Presently I am on NPlate and 10 mg of prednisone. Has anyone who has taken long term prednisone have it start to effect other organs in the body.

A year later I now have Chronic ITP and am on 75 mg of Promacta. My platelet levels are in the normal range now. I was advised by my doctor not to get my second Covid 19 shot.

The doctor now has me on a combination of Promacta 50 mg along with10 mg of prednison. After two months of this combination I am still running low so the doctor now has me on 75 mg of promacta with the same amount of predinson.

Eventually with IVig treatments and promacta they went up to 202. At the point that I am hoping it was still the Plavix that caused it and it will just go away.

I just start eltrombopag (promacta) 25 mg /day three weeks ago. I can see my hair get thinner, I have fine hair. Anyone can give me an advise what can I do (any vitamin or hair products.... etc) will help?

He has been on promacta for the last several years also has had many ivig transfusions. He is currently at the highest dose of promacta that is FDA approved for kids which is 50mg. Insurance will obviously not cover a higher dose.

It has been about 2.5 years since needing to do Promacta, prednisone, etc. I am wanting to share my story in case it helps even one person with ITP; I no longer have ITP.

I was wondering if anyone else experienced these types of headaches when they were on Promacta. And if so, did you ever get used to the headaches or did you have to stop taking Promacta.

.. hey i will try anything to get away from our nite mare .. on 75 mg. of promacta ( the max ) and steady at 50k . b4 i was on 50mg. and declining and scared. there is no way to take 100mg. it will kill you .. thanks everyone and we all pray for a cure ..

suffering with I T P for the past 3 years and seriously considering spleen removal . i know there is no guarntee it will work but if it does no more prednisone and the 75mg. promacta i am taking .. i know there is a test to determine if the spleen is killing off the platlekets so my logic is to have

In Australia I am unable to access any of the ITP drugs such as Promacta/Eltrombopag etc unless I have had a failed splenectomy. I am now considering splenectomy as I have run out of options & sitting dangerously low. Does anyone have any suggestions??

I know promacta 12.5mg and vit D are keeping me around 80. Any thoughts?

was doing fine for a year on 50 mg. promacta then all of a sudden I am tanking back into the 20s .. bumped it up to 75mg. promacta and see what happens .. none of those ugly symptoms yet ?? waiting ?? jimmy

I take Promacta 15 mg and it is holding me somewhere between 50 and 80. Everyone seems O.K. with that. A couple of months ago, a few posted that vitD helped their numbers, so I tried that on top of my promacta.

I am on 50mg. of promacta and it keeps me in the low 40s .. so gratefull for that ………………………. from clearwater florida and in the Philippines currently . they have me drinking tawa tawa and it does zero , it boiled grass . will try anything ……………… b-12 / folic acid /vitamin k / also zero results ..
