Hi everyone, this is my 1st post for which I will apologise for in advance….it’s going to be a long one. After several visits to A&E the pain was being looked at as gallbladder issues, however after numerous

What Next?
So after starting Enzalutamide six months ago we now need to move onto to the next treatment due to it having failed. Considering his oncologist told us Enzalutamide would only work for a month at best and if at all, we have to be happy with that. Maybe the self administered BAT was the reason there

Is it possible to develop secondary hypo whilst treated for hashi's?
Hi I haven't been on here for a while and sorry its late/early. I worked really hard getting my thyroid and vitamin deficiencies treated when I was first diagnosed in 2017. I am currently taking 100mcg levo and 10mcg t3 and have been stable on that dose for a good while. Probably around 3 years+ now

Want to come off Amitriptyline - Help!
I have been on amitriptyline for 10+ years now. I am 31. I have always struggled with severe migraines growing up so at 20 they put me on amitriptyline - 2 x tablets a night. Straight away, worked wonders. I started putting on a lot of weight and very quickly, but the doctors advised that it wasn't

Potential epilepsy/undiagnosed
Hi all, just wondered if anybody here has experienced similar to me. I haven’t been diagnosed with epilepsy but I suspect I may have it. I’m a 23 year old female, and since 2017 I have been experiencing migraines with aura but I’ve never had a painful migraine after or if I do it’s less than an hour

New to Pernicious Anaemia - what basic steps to take first?
Hi folks - GP sent on bloods today - low B12, low ferritin, high cholesterol, low haemoglobin and hematocrit (as well as sky high prolactin - another story!) So... I'm guessing that pretty much pernicious anaemia, right? Anything I should look into while I nudge the GP into action? I already take

Testing Pituitary Function - Any Advice Please?
I had an overactive thyroid gland treated with Radioactive Iodine in February 1990. I gained two and half stone during the three years which followed. My doctor flatly refused the idea that my thyroid had become underactive, while my T4 slowly plummeted to the bottom of the range, because my TSH did

Private endo for elevated prolactin
Hello I have been referred to an endo by my GP to investigate elevated prolactin levels. I discovered this by chance from a Medichecks result for menopause screening. I had two further tests on the NHS, and all three showed levels of around 700 (the upper level is around 500). There are obviously big

Sad Music
Every so often, we fall across bizarre ideas that have been put forward, whether in the spirit of scientific investigation or for more prosaic or base reasons - such as trying to sell something. In this case, I just happened across a couple of BBC radio programs in their The Why Factor series

Ashermans, thin lining, low ovarian reserve, poor responder.. trying ivf one last time with donor sperm for possible surrogacy if lucky
After many years of having a Mirena coil for heavy periods, my then partner and I decided to start to try for a baby. I thought it was strange that when I had the coil out my periods remained just as light as when I had it in. I decided to do some hormone tests, and discovered I had a high prolactin
