Hi, I am currently experiencing really deep horrible back pain, that is kind of penetrating through to my pelvic area. The back ache is not relieved with rest or sleep and if anything is probably better when I’m moving - although as I feel so yukky I just want to relax.
It started last week, (although not as bad) and the dr suspected a uti so put me on a course of antibiotics- he tested urine Friday and all was clear. He said to take another sample in if I still felt yuk and I’ve done this today - no results yet.
My periods disappeared for 6 months and so after an ultrasound sound and blood tests I was found to have high prolactin, I started treatment 6 weeks ago (cabergoline) and my period returned 2 weeks ago.
I just don’t know why I’m feeling like this, I am around ovulation time but never had it this bad before- the back pain literally makes me feel pretty sick and poorly.
I’m wondering if anyone else gets this? Could it be ovulation even though I had it before ovulating, and it’s still going - although it’s got worse? My anxiety is also so bad atm so that’s not helping :,(
Sorry for the wittering, thank you for reading x

Before I was diagnosed with prolapse I also had bad back pain and lower abdomen pain, I was treated for a UTI but nothing changed, after several phone calls to my GP and insisting the pain wasnt right I was finally diagnosed with a rectocele. On further examination it was found I also had a cistocele. Once I had the diagnosis I asked for a referral to a gynae physiotherapist who changed my life. She insisted the GP fit me with a ring pessary. Once the correct size was sorted the pain eased considerably, to the point that I dont even think about it most days. If I do a lot of walking and constantly on my feet I will notice a little pressure, but nothing like I used to pain wise. I dont know if that helps, but thought I would share it with you just in case.
I have to admit that you ladies gave me the courage to have the recommended prolapse surgery - just by your comments about pelvic pain.
I have dealt with lower back pain since trying to ski at the age of 23. I eventually gave up and HAD to have a L4-5 fusion at age 62 or I would not been able to walk. For 7 yrs, I was almost pain free, after recovery. But then, one fall day while walking my usual 2.5 mi walk with my dog, I got hit with more back pain. I , again thought it was just my back. I kept telling my PCP other symptoms of constipation, having trouble urinating, leakage etc. She never brought up PFP. Then when my YOUNGER sister started telling me about all of this, I was upset and angry, but wS terribly worried any of the PFP surgeries would make my sacrum and lower back worse. In the meantime, the pain increased and was essentially all around my pelvis.
Bottom line, I took a chance. It made sense that if all of my organs were falling out, it would put more pressure on my back. I am 5 weeks post surgery and feel SO MUCH BETTER. I did not do mesh. I was able to go to a renowned hospital for consultation. The surgeon used tendons higher up than the local doc would do. I am so much better.
Thank you for letting me know it possibly wasn't JUST my back and to look into alternatives. My S &I joint, hurts at times ... BUT it is just that joint - not my whole pelvis.
Happy New Year and I hope for more of you, future solutions to your pain.
