Reduction of prednisone and night pain
I have been slowly reducing my
prednisone
while doing Actemra. I reduced to 2 1/2 mg three days ago. I am experiencing shoulder and some hip pain while sleeping. Once I get up it is much better. Could this be happening because my body is getting used to the reduction in
prednisone
?

bombing a flare
But my question is this: in the case of a PMR flare, might it be effective to hit it with a larger dose of
prednisone
(say 60 mg if we had tapered to 8) to clear out the accumulated inflammation, and then return to where we were PLUS one mg for a short time?

unsure how to increase prednisone with flare
Diagnosed with pmr on 1 November and started on Prednisolone 15 mgs. This was increased to 20 mgs after 3 days as the 15 hadn’t helped, Was on 20 mgs for 18 days and told to reduce to 15mgs. This seemed to be too big a reduction as symptoms returned so Pred was increased to 17.5 for 10 days. Reductions

Should I care Pred?
As a PMR sufferer, I’m wondering if it is a good idea to carry, say, 20mg of Prednisolone when out and about. I understand that a sudden flare or, worse, development of GCA symptoms, would make this a prudent course of action. Thx

Energy Boosters?
62 months of Lupron, Zytiga and
prednisone
is starting to take its toll on my energy. I still do an hour of QiGong, biking and hiking most days but getting harder to motivate myself through the ever increasing exhaustion. That said, anyone finding an energy boost from medical cannabis?

Flushing and menthol sensations
I stopped using any steroids (low dose
prednisone
and depo medrol knee injections), B3, alpha lipoic acid and quercerin. Allergist did a tryptase test (normal) and has ordered another within 12 hours of next reaction (I'm hoping it never comes) She also ordered epi pen.

Low T
My husband has been on "vacation" from ADT, zytiga and
prednisone
for a year. His PSA is tested every 3 months. Today's number is still <0.1 ng/ml. However, his T was slowly building...17, 24, 42 and now dropping to 34. Should I be worried?

Tired, sick-feeling, slightly unsteady?
Abiraterone,
prednisone
, Lupron, radiation. My PSA levels remain low and steady. However, for the last few weeks I have felt weaker than normal, slightly nauseated, and a little unsteady when walking. Pretty much all day long. Does anyone know if this is "normal?"

Where should I go from here? Reduced by doc from 6 Pred to 2 and now suffering
Having been told by 3 doctors to try to get off Prednisolone so I could be assessed by specialist at hospital (as no doctor felt able to confirm I really had PMR although on steroids for 2 years!) I reduced from 6 to 2 Pred in 8 weeks. Result: much itching when reducing down from 4 to 3 and now, at 2

Blood Tests

Lanzaprozole and magnesium deficiency
Hi all, I was diagnosed with GCA in 2018. With the help and support of this group I came through some tough times, and will always be grateful for that. After a very gradual taper, I have now completed 13 months without prednisolone, and, fingers crossed, the GCA is still quiet. I am still having sub-cutaneous

Adrenals
Morning everyone. This is my first post on here. I was diagnosed with GCA in August 2022 and have been tapering down the Prednisolone to 5mg. I also take Tocilizumab and Methotrexate as I’ve had a difficult time with the Prednisolone so many side effects. How do I know if my adrenal glands are working

I’ve been having flashes of light and now a dark spot in that eye. What to do? Could it be GCA? Back surgery on March 15.
I’m on 9mg of
prednisone
at this time. My PA requested the
prednisone
for my surgery and after surgery so I will not have an adrenal crisis. Thanks for any suggestions.

Nasty fall and Lupus
hi all, I haven’t been writing on here for some time. On 6/7/23 I fell out of my disability stair lift from the top of our steep stairs at home! I flipped over, landed on my back and fell down the stairs and landed on the hallway floor on my head. I knocked myself out, fractured my skull, had a brain

To walk or not to walk?
I've recently been diagnosed with PMR and started on 15mg of Prednisolone which has now been reduced to 12mg. The meds are defiitely working but the stiffness has come back over the last few days. Do people 'work through it' and move and exercise or rest? I've tried both, and the pain and stiffness seem

Saw the medicina interna (I live in Spain) in July this year who suggested GCA and increased my pred to 60 again reducing by 10 mgs
