Over the last year I was in hospital for 6 months

Arterial leg ulcer treated with angio to clear artery, then maggots and dressing. Ulcer still there with "satellites ".

On diabetic yearly follow up sound ro be Via B12 deficient, have just completed 6 injections.

Last February had a fall out of our home lift and bake my left denim just above an old knee replacement (23 years ago). Amazing bit of metal inserted, 11 screws and am now able to get around with collator and/or crutches.

Meanwhile, aged husband (88) has started having falls, youngest son house flooded (in Tannadice).

Am stressed. Was on 10mg Prednisolone per day whilst in hospital and then in September tried to reduce (tapering) to 9.5mg per day. After week 7 felt dreadful. Have put myself back on 10 mg, and still have aches, pain in back & feet, and fatigue. Should I give myself a pred boost?

Tannadice was a bit rough - sorry to hear your son is there.

I think you could justify a bit more pred. Just going back to the 10mg may not have been enough to clear the inflammation - and our flare advice might help: add 5mg to where you flared due to overshooting for a few days (up to a week) until the aches calm down and then drop back to the dose you were good at, 10mg.

Maybe an extra mg or 2 might make a difference , but you won’t know until you try… and if it doesn’t. you may end up creeping up until you find a dose that does.

I think I’d take the bull by the horns and treat as a flare - and follow the advice in this link - then back to 10mg -

Have you tried pain killers for some of your pain? I was wondering if it could be something other than the PMR also causing problems.
