62 months of Lupron, Zytiga and prednisone is starting to take its toll on my energy. I still do an hour of QiGong, biking and hiking most days but getting harder to motivate myself through the ever increasing exhaustion.
That said, anyone finding an energy boost from medical cannabis?

Thanks. Got my Ohio medical card yesterday and was researching that strain. Was actually going to the dispensary but talked myself into buying another motorcycle instead. Sometimes the sheer exhilaration of riding through the Cuyahoga National Park serves as a pick me up. Butt, as you mention in your bio my friend, the lupron monster extracts it’s due…

ain’t that the truth! Looking forward to our annual visit to Pinehurst next month. Short game is still solid but I driver / 3 wood distance is a thing of the past. Went so far as to buy a Teton Driver thinking a straight 200 yarder is better than a 225 “where’d that one go?” Took it to driving range last week and it’s about as worthless as my genitalia.
I had the same problem. I bought the new stealth driver. I added 30 yards. I was so pleased I went out and bought the stealth 3/4 wood, It did make a major difference
I take American ginseng to help my energy level. It seems to have helped. I’m not feeling uber energized but definitely better than I was prior to starting the ginseng.

it’s the best thing for the fatigue by far, but you probably know that. Not lifting on Lupron is insane to me, but I certainly understand. Great luck to you!
No; I find the best use of cannabis is appetite stimulation. Of course everyone is different. Talk to your doctors about Provigil, a medication that can provide more energy and focus to offset issues caused by ADT. Good luck.
Gotcha. Last thing I need at this stage is appetite stimulation. Here I thought I had the only stage 4 cancer that made folks fat. I’ve stayed pretty much the same weight as when I was first diagnosed but the prednisone has sure moved the weight in different directions. That’s why I thought i might use a stimulant to do a little more in the way of activity. Thanks again for your advice!
Like I said, everyone is different. My appetite is pretty good most of the time but sometimes, esp. at night, I either don't get hungry or I feel full after a few bites. I got in the TX legal cannabis program and some THC tincture an hour or so before dinner does the trick.
My sister in law works third shift and takes a 900 mg “Guarana Energizer.” Similar caffeine dose as traditional No Doz but with some additional herbs added in. She and her fellow nurses take it. There seems to be a minimal slump effect after it wears off. Have been experimenting with it for a few months and found its benefits for me were being wider awake and lucid as well as helping me sail above the fatigue threshold. Some slight energy boost with an overdrive effect where I can see through the day’s projects suavely without jitters. No apparent crash after it wears off. I take one pill a day occasionally and that does the trick for me on all the above accounts. Bought on Amazon. I did run it by my oncologist on the front end, He indicated there were no apparent adverse drug interactions and to post him on the results as it could benefit other of his patients.
I take a 1/2 an indica gummy 0 - 4x a week. It really depends upon my monkey-mind getting fired up and not letting me have a full night of sleep. I try to not overload my body with more than it needs.
My family doc prescribed Trazadone for sleep 50mg but only do half and I'll take right before I lay down. I'll sleep solid for 5 or 6hrs and no freaky dreams. No morning hang over either.
Throwing in my two cents here - my sister convinced me to try Zipfizz a couple of months ago (tons of B vitamins apparently). Made a noticeable difference for me. Don't know if it's just a placebo effect, but don't care, either. Whatever works.
And I'm solidly back into Keto - not necessarily because I wanted to, but it's the only thing that gives me a lot of energy. Between those two things, I'm functioning again.
I have been on the same regimen for 50 months and just recently found something that really reduced my fatigue. I eat breakfast first thing in the morning and take 5mg of prednisone. 2 hours later (I set an alarm) I take 750 mg of abiraterone acetate (3 tablets). Sometimes it goes 2.5 to 3 hours, but never more than that. I then set another alarm to be sure I eat lunch an hour after that and take my other 5mg of prednisone. As long as I eat and take my second prednisone an hour later, it really cuts down on my fatigue and sets me up for the rest of the day. The longer I wait to eat and take that 2nd prednisone, the less effective this routine is. You may have already tried this, but it really works for me as I notice a significant difference in my energy level.
Try MCT oil with your favorite caffeinated beverage. Check with your PCP and other doctors first. My PCP ok'd it for me, MO said to try it. It might raise your BP and/or LDL. I started with I tsp, then gradually moved up to 1 Tbsp in the morning. For me, it seems to extend the boost from caffeine all day and doesn't make me jittery, doesn't raise my BP
There is a risk that because prostate cancer cells have extra cannabinoid receptors, that cannabinoids actually promote the growth of those cells.
Dr. Myers observed such a pattern among those of his patients who vociferous self medicated with cannabis. They seemed to disproportionately have the most aggressive prostate cancer.
It's really not possible to do a legal controlled study in the US.
It was just an observation that those patients who most vociferously bragged about self medicating with cannabis, seemed to be suffering from the most aggressive prostate cancer.
Given the high cannabinoid receptor levels in prostate cancer cells it's logical that cannabis should either suppress or increase their growth.
I use the Tencture Nira extra strength in the morning. .25ml gives me energy and helps with some pain but if I set I want to doze. Only downside I found was not my appetite im always eating from the Prednisone but it was when working when I went for a tool I'd forget what I was looking for..lol..but not a bad thing.
