Lupron and Abiraterone post treatment expectations?

Ive had RP; PSA didn’t go to zero; started Lupron and Abi + Prednisone and then 33 radiation treatments of whole pelvic region. PSA has been undetected for 7 mos now. Hope to stop all treatments after 6/24

Has anyone walked similar path?

Did PSA stay at zero?

Did libido return?

Did body hair return?

Did testicles grow back to previous size?

Did hot flashes go away?

Did stamina return?

I don’t have any answers but my husband is pretty much on the same path. Surgery was 5/22, started ADT & radiation 9/22, now is on Orgovyx, abiraterone, and prednisone and has undetectable PSA and testosterone. Will stay on that until 8/24, and hoping for an improvement in QOL at that time. He’s 54 this month.

Good luck!!

Everything you mentioned returned for me, except any change in testicle size I can’t remember. Why do you care about that?

What did not return was sexual function, original penis length and girth, or continence. The lasting incontinence is unusual, permanent ED and reduced size is very common.

Adenocarcinoma Grade Gp IV T3bN1Mx. On vacation for 9 months after 28 months on ADT post RP and IGRT. PSA still undetectable, T rose from less than 3 to9 to 12 to 20, Hot flashes did not reduce, No change in testi size, hair growth increased definitely and huge change in energy levels, no reduction in tit growth......but one thing I have relaised on this forum is that each case takes its own path. Good luck mate

My situation is slightly different, but I've been off ADT for over a year now after 13 months of ADT, 25 IMRT sessions, and LD brachytherapy. My PSA has remained under .1, and my T came back at first to about 700, then dropped to 340, and now is back to 670. But my free T is now only .6% (normal is 1.5 - 2%), so my strength and energy feel like they are declining again. Body hair is still greatly reduced, genitals still diminished, libido very low, but no hot flashes, which were never a big deal anyway. And I'm still trying to lose the last of the weight I gained, and some of the effects from the radiation are still present. I guess what I am saying is don't necessarily expect things to roar back to normal right away, though maybe you will be lucky and they will. Everyone will be different as already mentioned. I hope your recovery is on the faster side. 😀 🦊
