feeling scared coping with necessity to increase dose after flare
A bit of history..... My PMR was diagnosed in June 2021 and I started on 15mg prednisolone. (it had been undiagnosed since the Feb). I discovered this network and have dipped in on and off to pick up tips - Thank you! I managed pretty well getting down to 5mg by September 2022 but then being aware

Thank you all!
Today I met with my new doctor who told me I’ve been on
prednisone
too long (2 1/2 years) and I need to get off it soon. When I asked her how long people usually get off pred with PMR she answered two years. I now am making appointment tomorrow with a different doctor! I again am taking control!

Prednisone and cataract surgery
Will
Prednisone
affect the success of my healing from cataract surgery? I am currently taking 5 mg/day but just started the slow taper with a goal of 4 1/2. My surgery is scheduled for May 31. Thank you.

His view was great that the
prednisone
had a sharp positive effect but now he wasn’t dead sure of what was occurring in regards to whether this was in fact PMR.

unexplained lower abdomen infection, increase Prednisone?
I’ve had a sore tender lower abdomen, temperature, shivers since Thursday teatime, which resulted in a trip to A&E (England). Admitted due to high CRP (267 instead of around 20), and high white cell count (20 instead of 10). Day 2 and CRP is now 277 but white cell count down to 15. So far they have

Tapering and Fatigue
Hello All Some advice would be very welcome. I completed a slow taper (over 4 weeks) form 9.5 to 9mg prednisolone 10 days ago and thought I was doing quite well. However, in the last two days I have been completely overcome with fatigue such that I am barely able to function. I also feel a bit shaky

Prednisolone query
I recently requested coated prednisolone which my doctor has prescribed. I expected they would not have a line down the middle, but they appear to look exactly the same as the uncoated ones. They were issued in a plain white box with a dispensary printed label stating “prednisolone 5mg Gastro-Resistant

hello
I was diagnosed with PMR about four years ago. Generally I am a positive person and I don’t dwell on my symptoms but getting off prednisolone seems to be impossible. I get down to 1mg then it flares again. I’m beginning to see a correlation between the flu vaccination and a flare up. I try to think

He is on a 6 month Eligard injection and zytiga +
prednisone
. He had a psma pet scan last month which showed a spot outside his lung. Pelvic metastasis that were there on a previous CT scan shrunk by over 50%. He has a CT scan scheduled on Memorial Day for the spot outside his lung.

How important is the timing when the dose is 0.5mg?
hello and happy new year! I’m successfully down to 0.5mg Prednisolone daily and take it when I wake in the early hours (2-3.30am) How important is this timing at this dose? Is there a more beneficial time?

Steroids and blood-sugar...
I posted recently about the "Prednisolone jitters" and quite a lot of people seem to have responded with similar experiences. I think I might have some insight which might be useful to someone out there... Before being diagnosed with PMR I used to get episodes of low blood sugar. I know this because

Re: Taxotere chemo after post surgery IMRT
Put on Lupron , generic Zytiga and
prednisone
and given 6 weeks of IMRT. Has to wait 3 months till June for first PSA. Have read that a follow up to the radiation is now Taxotere or another chemo. Has anyone has this therapy and what were your results?

"Prednisolone Jitters"...is it A Thing...?
I am fairly new to Prednisolone, barely one week in. It has helped enormously but it has also had some odd and unexpected effects. I often wake in the middle of the night with my body raring to get up and do some gardening, chop some wood or take the dog for a long hike...at 1am...! My mind, of course

Pluvicto Supply
My husband stopped
Prednisone
& Jevtana February 5th in anticipation of 1st dose of Pluvicto. U of Michigan Oncology says he had a "remarkable" response to Jevtana and waiting without any treatment is okay.
