I’m back again …5th cycle 🤞
It feels very daunting , been over a year. Not planned to wait this long but had so many set backs. I had my laporoscopy surgery in June (after been cancelled 3 times ) , recovery and then a week before I was meant to start next cycle , I caught covid. I had an appointment last week with miscarriage

Prednisolone And Thinning Skin
Hi, I don’t post on here very often but I have a problem that I would like to share. I have been on Prednisolone for about eight years, since I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia; it caused my retirement at 64 years. I even posted a poem on here that I wrote, with the first line "Polly Myalgia, she

treatment for my husband
He has been treated with
prednisone
, BP meds, ace inhibitors since diagnosis they now think it is C3G. I am looking for treatment options or those also treated with
prednisone
. Drs have concern about long term side effects of
prednisone
. So far my husband has tolerated this treatment well.

Hello! I was hoping to get some advice. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with security and customs at airports, and if so was it easily resolved? Or what else have they asked for? Just want to be as prepared as possible. I'm off to Costa Rica in December flying from Gatwick airport with

stiffness with reduction plan
I started on 20 mg of prednisolone early July and had reduced to 12mg by mid September without any problems. I caught Covid and pain returned but only in my left hip so I increased to 15mg for a couple of weeks while the pain subsided. During October I’ve decreased to 13.5mg and have some mild stiffness

Steroids, statins, strange query
I was put on 80mg Atvostatin mid Aug following a TIA/Afib episode and diagnosis. From mid September I started to suffer an intermittent throbbing, burning pain on the ball of my foot and last three toes. It comes on suddenly such as during the short 1 mile walk I’ve just completed. Bloods in Sept showed

past my sell by date
yesterday I had an eye test and the optician asked if I was “still !” using eye drops in my very dry eyes. He said I should do so hourly. I wasn’t aware I was supposed to but apparently they are so dry they account for the regular migraines I’ve been experiencing. Then the usual questions regarding

In so much pain and feeling poorly
Hi folks, Last Friday while squeazing the edge of the mattress into the corner of a fitted sheet I had an excruciating shooting pain across the middle of my back. After that I could barely do anything without serious pain. Ever since, I've been falling asleep all day, had nausea, bloating & painful

Adrenal insufficiency and dosage
I searched this site but didn't find this article. For me the top takeaway was "Mean prednisolone dose the last 3 months and basal P-cortisol were the best and simplest predictors of adrenal function." This conclusion seems to support the DSNS protocol(which I am using with success so far--thank

possible flare or low cortisol
Hi, reduced my prednisolone about 2 weeks ago to 4.5mg from 5mg and have been okay until today. A couple of twinges here and there but manageable. Today I’m feeling awful, headache, pain in back, legs, feet and shoulders/neck. Absolutely exhausted and feeling tearful. Could this be a flare do you think

Bright Lights and Halos
Hi, For a change, I am not asking for myself, but for a male friend who has literally just been diagnosed with PMR. He is on day five of taking 15mg Gastro costed Pred, and seeing an improvement in his symptoms. However yesterday he started to see massive halos around single point lights like street

it feels like I'll never get better
Hi! I've had constant air hunger every day since June. During my early teens, I was diagnosed with asthma caused by cats. I got prescribed Ventolin which I used when in contact with cats, it helped. I never had any other issues with asthma. As I was young, the allergy tests only confirmed me being

reducing prednisone with slow method
I have been reducing for 2 months and have gone from 15mg daily to 12. Things are going pretty good. I have tweaked it a little and wonder what anyone thinks about it. In the past I have flared doing this and thought what can I do differently to help myself. I usually take my pred in the evening. Now

Rate of Prednisone Decrease after Upping for a Flare
I like to separate thyroid med from
prednisone
and since I am a night owl (bad habit) that means I sometimes don’t take my
prednisone
until noon or later. Is this less than optimal timing? Thanks!

Any ideas for travel insurance for those with PMR
I have been taking Prednisolone for PMR about 18 months now. Have tried hard to taper but following flares have now been told by Rheumy to go back to my original dose of 15 mg and start again from there. Today has been my first day back on the 15 and suddenly I am pain free and feel almost like before

update on subacute thyroiditis
I was eventually given a course of steroids as my ESR was stubbornly high (40mg
prednisone
) which was tapered off and B blockers to manage thyrotoxic symptoms. The steroids worked like magic and I’m now feeling so much better. I also started B complex vitamins and iron supplements.

Wandering Scot presently living in Mexico and recently diagnosed with PMR
I know the risks of
prednisone
especially as I already have osteoporosis but I’m hoping I can mitigate those. When I started the
prednisone
I started a calcium supplement with vitamin D. I’ll also add vitamin K.
