How important is the timing when the dose is 0.5mg?

hello and happy new year!

I’m successfully down to 0.5mg Prednisolone daily and take it when I wake in the early hours (2-3.30am)

How important is this timing at this dose? Is there a more beneficial time?

Whatever works for you is the right time. If you now would prefer NOT to have to wake in the middle of the night, why not slowly move the time to the morning and see how you get on? I wouldn't do it in one, I would move an hour at most at a time. But I would try it.

I tend to make mine at the same time in the morning. If I can’t take it then I certainly know that I haven’t. I am currently on 4 mg but trying to reduce very slowly dsns because I have had relapses in the past. Being patient seems to be the word.

I have been taking pred for over 4 years. I have tried all the different times with doses ranging from 15mg to 1. I don't believe for me it has made any difference at all. If I forgot a dose or for some reason couldn't take itI would know it by about 2pm. Now I can go a day or so without any then I take 1mg. I think worrying about timings on such a small dose is unnecessary. Try it and see. We are all different!

At times my dose has varied as to when I take it, I take anywhere between 7am and 9pm.
