Atorvastatin diabetes
Hi, has anyone developed new onset diabetes or
prediabetes
on atorvastatin? If so how soon did it show up and did changing the statin help at all? Am already on ezetimibe. Seeing GP next week and not sure what I should be asking for. Any advice gratefully received.

ONE - Prednisolone
However intelligent to back on although my doc said my blood test was a bit high and I also have
prediabetes
caused by the steroid. He told me to cut out sugar and processed goods but I rarely have processed food and very little sugar.

Metabolic symptoms at 3am
If this is some kind of transient metabolic phenomenon - is it more likely to be an issue with
prediabetes
/insulin/glucose or with liver processes? I am a 71 year old man with a handful of issues including Polymyalgia Rheumatica (taking steroids).

Diet and cycling - hyperthyroidism and prediabetes
Hi and thanks for any thoughts. I have recently been diagnosed as prediabetic with increased cholesterol. I tried cutting back on carbs but am a keen cyclist and felt a loss of energy and stamina. Further tests done and awaiting others but hyperthyroidism likely. My weight is going down and I would

Update 8.3
I am meeting with my PCP this Thursday to review the
prediabetes
readings and other general health issues. All of the other labs done look great. I expect the next step will be to lose weight and see what happens.

I have chronic renal failure stage 3 , have had aerotic valve surgery, also fairly high ldl cholesterol,
prediabetes
because of simvastatin, nhs will not authorize pcsk9 inhibitors for me , it seems that the nhs would prefer you to become diabetic than give better drugs without side effects

Prediabetes disgnosis
My AIC is at 6 which is borderline to diabetes. I am taking steps to modify my diet and lose the weight I gained during COVID and while on PRED. I tapered off PRED THIS June. I have a family history of diabetes so I am aware that while my siblings were diagnosed in their 50's I have postponed the problem

Update 8.1 - post venesection
No other intervention for
prediabetes
is indicated at this point. In the most important parameter, I continue to feel fine. My quality of life is very good, which is what matters the most. I will confirm the plan to stay at 175mcg Besremi with my MPN care team.

Meds & raised blood sugar
The standard advice on all sites re
prediabetes
is: 1. to lose weight- my brother is already underweight 2. to take exercise, based on the recommendation of 150- 75 mins which raises the heart rate - impossible & risky in his case 3. To drink more - recommended 6 -8 glasses of water a day.

Steroid dependency and Prediabetes
so - - saw my GP about a raised HBA1c which means I am pre-diabetic and her advice about diet is useless as I TRULY could not reduce/exclude anything more, so that leaves 1. genetics, which I cannot change and 2. upping exercise, which is, as you all know, not easy but hey - ho - off I go. AND then

Are all Blood Pressure Meds Awful?
I am 67 with
prediabetes
sometimes. I’ve tried all the alternative remedies but none worked. Nor did losing four stone. Is this really how to go on? Thanks for any thoughts, I know others with similar problems.

Week 5 underway #2 completed
After a 'chat' with my GP after routine blood tests (the usual suspects- high cholesterol and
prediabetes
) I decided it was time to get off the couch, get active and ensure I have a rather different chat with the GP next time. Well here I am after week 5 run 2 and I am loving it.

Low Carb or even Keto why is not recommended with low thyroid - can I control prediabetes with diet ?
Help please wise, kind people. I am autoimmune underactive and gluten intolerant but also pre diabetic. As thyroid stabilising and generally fine, I am now trying to sort the Pre diabetes and take it off the back burner. I have been reading around this on and off for ages and never got out of the

Week 6 done week 7 underway
I'm on holiday in Spain but packed my running kit so I can stay on top of the
prediabetes
and enjoy my holiday. Week 6 run 3 is a 25 minute run with no walking breaks. There was light rain in Malaga so the smooth tiled pavements were rather slippery.
