The uptake results are in... and more confusion
I've received my uptake scan results today, which I was expecting to show a toxic nodule or few. Instead the report states..... There is uptake seen throughout the thyroid gland with relative increased tracer activity on the right when compared to the left, however, no focal nodule is seen. Thyroid

Help!
In the last few years I have put on a lot of weight on my stomach.. but have very slim arms and legs. My waist is now 48 inches. I cannot wear anything that zips up etc around my waist. I am normally a 32 inch waist. I have had my pituitary gland looked at, and it is slightly enlarged, but nothing

is this a sign my meds are struggling or just how it is now?
Sorry for the long message but would appreciate knowing if this is typical or if I am being a little dramatic and unrealistic. diagnosed with RA nearly 2 years ago. Took a while but pretty much back to normal after moving to injecting 20mg MTX, 200g hydroxy and folic acid 6 days a week. Took just over

RLS - tapering off Pramipexole & using codeine
Hi all, firstly am so grateful I found this forum. I have learnt so much and feeling hopeful so thanks for all the insights and advice. After reading about all the warnings of augmentation and seeing the reduced effectiveness of pramipexole after taking it for 10+ years, I am now coming off it. Down

Hi Guys Not posted for a while I was just wondering if it safe to Aspirin my husband as NAFLD and is suffering with constant headaches he’s been prescribed paracetamol but they don’t seem to be helping so the GP gave him codeine which just made him sick. Hi 👋 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2021........I have been convinced that maybe it isn't fibo, but speaking to a top doctor (whilst in hospital for an unrelated matter) he asked why I'd came to this conclusion.........I said because although I'm in pain when I do not take my codeine I'm not

Success (I hope) with Gabapentin
I have had RLS for more years than I can remember. For years I took mirapexin till I augmented. I tried Pregabalin but I felt dizzy all the time and I put on a lot of weight quickly. I started tramadol and then alternated between that and mirapexin ( yes I went back on it). I coped like this for a long

Poor communication or misunderstanding?
So... I saw my NHS Consultant on Monday about my leg pain and inability to walk when flaring and we discussed my surgery etc and I left the appointment feeling pretty deflated. Long story short she's told me I have to go on the progesterone only pill while I wait for my 1st Lap (hopefully less than 6

Opioids
Have been following posts, have studied Mayo Clinic, been back to rlshelp.org Have read Dr Earlys research , follow several Rls groups . I have done the DAs (unfortunately) The side effects of Gabapentin and Pregabalin far out way the benefits. Iron is good, I get infusions as needed. I use Magnesium

Vitamin and mineral supplements? My latest results
Hi all, I've just had my latest Blue Horizon results (see image) which I would welcome comments on, particularly regarding the vitamins and minerals I might need to supplement. All blood tests were done no later than 9.30am, no levo for 24 hours before. I've worked really hard this year on my diet, but

Should I apply sick day rules following a foot operation?
I had an operation yesterday to remove osteophyte ring from around my big toe. I’m home now and it’s very painful despite taking the codeine 30mg they prescribed. My PMR is no different and I’m on 6mg prednisolone but am I supposed to apply sick day rules or do I only do that if PMR gets worse?

RAI and persisting inflammation research
Not sure if this has already been posted, but will definitely be following this: BTF research award: 'Does persisting thyroid inflammation explain poor quality of life after radioiodine therapy (RAI)?' https://www.btf-thyroid.org/btf-research-award-winner-2023 Just reading the title I thought OMG

Stress - I ignored the obvious ...
I should know this by now after nearly 4 years of PMR. I am normally reasonably OK at dealing with stress, but there is a limit. Now I know all too well that PMR flares are indeed one of the ugly lovechilds of major stress. I am 68 but still working. One of my sidelines suffered terribly in Covid

Blood Results - and poor treatment/support from NHS - feel lost and unwell
I have been diagnosed severe Graves with high antibodies for about 8 years and suffered a number of relapses where usually end up in A&E. Due to reading a lot on this forum and other websites I have refused RAI treatment due to the often poor outcomes and don’t really want surgery either as read about
