I am quite intolerant of Carbimazole - liver enzymes are abnormal and my white cell count is low -neutropenia and really sore gums/teeth. All a reaction to the meds but my Endocrynologist insists the alternatives medications are not much better. It’s take the meds or surgery or RA Iodine - my anti-bodies are still high after eight months of treatment. I am feeling so sick of this. Anyone else with Graves swap to a different medication with better results? Apologies for the grizzle!

My friend had bad reaction to carbimazole so she had RAI quite quickly after being diagnosed. She is now hypo and is well on a small dose of levothyroxine. RAI works for some people. It is a gamble.
