As posted in past my son’s T4 is below range, whilst waiting to see medics he did a medicheck iodine test as understand iodine needed to make T4. Anyway results back and any insight from knowledgeable forum members would be appreciated.
Creatinine 19801 (no range but grey dot indicates in range)
Iodine creatinine 172.97 (70 - 530)
Urine iodine 387 micro gram/litre (100-200) so appears to be high but then doctor comments ‘ your iodine level is low however this can change following intake of iodine in diet. Iodine:creatinine ratio is healthy indicating normal levels in body’
Any thoughts as feeling confused and wish hadn’t taken test.

So there's no doubt that his Iodine level is high on that scale.
It's not unknown for Medichecks comments to be completely at odds with the test result. If I were you I would contact Medichecks to point out the discrepancy between the result and their comments and ask for an explanation.
However, the iodine:creatinine ratio is in the green zone at 22% through it's range and Medichecks say this is a "better indication of iodine levels in the body as this measure is less prone to interference from dietary iodine intake". Whether 22% through range is good or could be better I don't know.
I did my urine Iodine test with Genova Diagnostics and mine was exactly half way through range and I was satisfied with that.
