Great article - written for Thyroid UK for their quarterly 'Harmony Magazine' by Professor Graham Hughes
Both Sjogren’s Syndrome and Hughes Syndrome can and often do, respond well to treatment Sjogren’s – in particular the fatigue and aches and pains, often respond surprisingly well to an old fashioned medicine – quinine (the agent used is
Plaquenil
– a safe and widely used medicine).

Primary Sjogren's Syndrome
Is there anybody on meds for it, eg
Plaquenil
? Or any recommendations for a particular med? I'm off to see my GP later in the week because I'm fed up of the severe fatigue / joint pain, but I'd rather go armed with a suggestion or two rather than just the usual blank expression on my face. :-D

Any advise against side effects of Plaquenil?
My brain MRI came back clean, and, as I haven't had any clots yet (although I suffer from other symptoms), my APS doctor put me on Aspirin and
Plaquenil
. I feel sick most of the time and my dizziness is worse. Any advise how to cope with it?

I was put on 80 mg Lipitor-generic-- after a stroke in March--experienced muscle aches and leg pains--
I have APS and am also on Warfarin and
Plaquenil
which are helping me. Do I really need to stay on a statin that is affecting my quality of life with leg discomfort?

Musculoskeletal problems
Im due to start
plaquenil
soon do you know if this will help with this type of pain or does it usually just help with nerve type pain we get ? Im a bit upset as it seems more and more symptoms just keep coming and now is this just another type of pain I just have to put up with every day now?

Will I seem too pushy
various trials and tribulations that it seems are all too common, I emailed the professors secretary two weeks ago to say that as he had discharged me (again) and that I had forgotten to get my "list" out of my handbag, would he mind addressing a couple of questions for me and I also asked if I might try

I feel such a mess right now
Do you think the
plaquenil
may be contributing to my symptoms or is it the condition becoming more established? I would be very grateful for your comments as not only am I under the weather, I am feeling really low too. BB

I also increased my
plaquenil

Yet another symptom to add to my long list
As I have posted before, I have been on
plaquenil
for 18 months now and I seem to be more and more sensitive to light where my face and neck both flush red after being on the computer.

Is anyone taking Enbril? I'm starting it next week. I'm still in a flair up so I'm not so scared yet to try it.
I'm taking methotrexate,
plaquenil
and prednisone. Sometimes I think the medications are causing more side effects than the RA itself

Boy, do I need a new GP . . .
Oh, and I asked to be sent back to the rheumy to see about the long-term use of
Plaquenil
- can't remember who brought this up a few days ago, but obviously I do need that checked - and was told that *he* would write to a rheumatologist to enquire. I could telephone in 2 weeks to find out.

Does anyone know if hydroxychlooquine is film coated the same as plaquenil
I usually get
plaquenil
when I put my prescription into my local pharmacy but yesterday I went to get it as usual and it wasn't my usual box of
plaquenil
that say film coated on the box.

I haven't written here in a good log time. I have just been so unhappy, of course nobody know it. I am on so many meds and not feeling good!
I am taking methotrexate injections weekly,
plaquenil
, folic acid two different things for my stomach, prednisone and gabapentin. I had another flair up in the middle of the might. I waited 5 1/2 hour for the hospital to give me 60 mg of prednisone.
