How does Methotextrate make you feel? I've heard that I will be quite nauseated a couple days after injection.

Secondly, did you lose a lot of hair ?

Are you overall happy with Methotextrate ?

I inject on Tuesday evening. I recommend just pre bed. Wed/thur or sometimes thur/fri I feel wiped, headachey and nauseous. I take two different types of anti sickness tabs which control this quite well. I eat little and often which helps and bananas are good aa are cheesy biscuits! I have hair loss at temples eyebrows and eyelashes, but its copable with. I plan my week to ensure I dont have too much on on those days. All this sounds a lot worse than it is. It is all managable and doable. You should take prescription folic acid 5 mgs on the 6 days you dont inject. Helps withhairloss and nausea. 1000s of us lupies take MTX. It is nothing to worry about and you soon work out how to fit it into your life in the best way. Good luck xx

Hi I take methotrexate injections 15mg weekly into my stomach also. I take it on a Thursday night before bed. I find that I feel nauseous and tired Friday and less on Saturday. The injection is so much better for me than the tablet form. Could not tolerate the tablets at all. The folic acid helps with the sickness feeling. I am waiting to see benefit of methotrexate but I am hopeful. As for hair loss I find that I was loosing hair before methotrexate because of the lupus and the Methotrexate doesn't seem to have made it any worse. I would definitely give methotrexate a go. It has helped a lot of people and you may see benefits to how your condition affects you. Let us know how you get on.
