Intro + Anyone Else?
I also suffer from migraines/cluster headaches, for which I take 2mg
Pizotifen
daily, and 2.5mg Naratriptan on an as-needed basis. My personal best PEFR is 350 L/m, as per the EU scale.

Hi everyone :) I've been on and off medication for the last 2 years, tried Migraleve,
Pizotifen
, PropranololTopiramate, Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline and thats not all of them :/ I'm still in school and since my exams are next week, I've stopped taking the medication because of the nasty side effects.

Free Prescriptions for Asthmatics?
I rely on
Pizotifen
for cluster migraine prohylaxis, and I need 15 of those a year so thats another £123. Then I have Vitamin D3 which is just that bit cheaper on prescription, rolling in at £41 for the year, and an Otomize or two for ear infections which I am prone to. That's another £16.40.

Migraines changing
I have tried sumutriptan, zolmitriptan, immigran,
pizotifen
, high doses of aspirin, ibuprofen, propanolol, tompiramate. Nothing works!! Some days I can't drive, can't speak properly as if my brain can't function,I'm lethargic and in total agony. I use a tens.machine for my back and neck pain.

Confused!
I've been put on
Pizotifen
by a very confused and largely uninterested GP, who only agreed these were migraines after I said I thought they were...
Pizotifen
isn't helping yet, but I've just been on it a week. Does anyone else suffer from these and have any knowledge or advice?

Neuromodulation and Migraine
I had to stop
Pizotifen
due to joint problems and other than retrying Topirimate ( I had to stop it when I nearly crashed the car, so would have to take time off work ) I think I'm running out of options.

Pizotifen - weight gain?
My question is, is anyone else on
Pizotifen
and how did you manage the weight gain? Is it purely increased appetite and down to the person? Am I fighting a losing battle? Thanks

For the last month or two I have noticed my 8yr ( has BD & Joint hyper mobility Syndrome) complaining more and more of feeling sick?
Sometimes accompanied by lots of stopping pains - heart, joint , head - on colchicine, and
pizotifen
, ibuprofen and sometimes steroids. We have had a good run - three weeks without any ulcers, but she is showing signs of a flare coming ..

An alternative to Pizotifen
Hello there everyone, A while back someone here mentioned that a side effect of
Pizotifen
is depression.and that rang bells for me. I was wondering what the alternatives are to
Pizotifen
and I've tried looking through past postings without any luck.

Propranolol advice/experience
I've just been prescribed propranolol by my GP since sumatriptan, amitrityline,
pizotifen
and rizatriptan benzoate do not work for me. I've been reading that propranolol causes people to feel very tired/fatigued and that it deters them from long periods of exercise.

how desperate do I need to be to get a referral?
suffered from migraines for 10+ years, tried
pizotifen
, amytriptyline and varying strengths of propanolol. rizatriptan sometimes sort of helps but side effects make me reluctant to take it when I'm at work.

Drugs for migraines
I have tried
pizotifen
and immigran, Neither really worked. I am sure it's hormone-related, even though my ovaries and all other bits went in my hysterectomy nearly ten years ago when i had OC.
