My beloved father and best friend has passed away, he will always be my hero.
My wonderful father Albert Moser passed away May 20, 2023. The last few months have been incredibly hard. After his 4th dose of chemo in February, he had a big bleed from a tumor in his bladder which almost killed him. After a 10 day hospital stay with 12 transfusions and nephrostomy tubes inserted he

High Ferritin & more weird symptoms
Hello dear people, A month ago I was having weird heart-ish chest pain, but the EKGs and ER bloodwork did not indicate heart problems, so I've been trying to figure out what's going on. I got two rounds of blood work. Almost everything is in range, but notably, my ferritin was high! 409 (range 15

HDR BT Salvage Therapy
Hello All I just completed the second BT procedure at MSK. Pain level was maybe 3 but mostly gone the next morning with some soreness. My next step I’m told is bloodwork in 3 months which I’m not concerned about. I am concerned about the 6 month MRI which could show if any cancer still remains. When

Bit shell shocked !!
it is thirteen years since I was diagnosed with gca. , and to be truthful I have never felt well but have been ok. I still take low dose pred. And methotrexate. I haven’t seen rheumi for two years due to covid etc. so, a few months ago decided after five bad years to get a grip.

Starting Talzenna
I'm starting Talzenna next week and want to know any experiences people have had with it. I'm super scared of the side effects ruining my ability to have a good summer. I've been on Ibrance and Letrozole for about 2 years and tolerated it very well. I've been able to live my life pretty normally. I had

Paclitaxel not working
hello everyone, I wondered if anybody had a similar experience and could offer some advice. I started on weekly Paclitaxel in January (second line treatment recurrence) and after my last CT scan I was informed that the cancer is progressing. My CA125 started to go down at first but soon started going

uptake increase one spot only
In the PET SCAN world, I’m curious, what happens when one spot shows an increase in avid/activity, but everything else shows stability or even decreases? My scans have been stable and favorable this past year (praise Jesus) after starting letrozole/ibrance 16 mos ago for bone only, lobular, ER+. I have

Update re carbimazole.
I haven't posted for a while since my husband ended up in hospital. The update is he was taken off carbimazole as he could not tolerate it. Saw Endocrinologist last Friday and he will be having Radioactive Iodine treatment to deal with his remaining half of the gland. Surgery isn't an option nor is

’Nothing else NHS can do’
After years of seeing my GP about my symptoms and trying lots of different types of tablets, I’ve recently been told ‘there’s nothing the nhs can do for you until you try the anti-depressants’. They won’t refer me to a gastroenterologist about persistent bloating. I have severe abdominal pain a few

waiting for the result of a 24 urine test as possible hypercalcaemia
I am waiting for the result of a 24 hour urine test. I have previously had above the normal range calcium tests. This has been going on for about a year. I’m guessing that the culprit is lithium but I’m wondering whether steroids can cause this ?
