Help Ulster University research access to rehab services
If you have PSP or CBD and are living in Northern Ireland could you help researchers at Ulster University learn more about access to rehabilitation services (including physio, occupational therapy, speech therapists, psychologists)? This research will involve joining a 90-minutes virtual Focus Group

Mucus cough & not sleeping
Wondering if any ladies can offer some advice - I’d call the doctors but they take up to 5 working days to return calls. I’m 32w today and have had a horrendous mucus cough and cold over the weekend. I’ve ended up calling in sick today as I physically cannot function due to only having 6 hours sleep

Pneumonia and Azathioprine/Prednisolone
I had managed just over 2 years since my last case of pneumonia after i swore by the 'onion trick', to treat resp infections. I've been having maybe a month and a half of apnoec and SOB episodes which were finally improving after a few weeks of antiepileptic medication, Keppra. But as the dose increased

Patient Experiences on DTE
This is useful narrative paper on why how and when patients prefer NDT (DTE) over other therapies. It might have been posted before, but the journal is obscure. Downloadable paper: Patient Experiences and Perceptions Associated with the Use of Desiccated Thyroid Extract

An Unusual False-Positive Uptake of Radioiodine Caused by Breast Implants
Posting this simply to let everyone know! If the issue applies, make sure you discuss properly with anyone who wants to give you radioactive iodine. I suspect it will be at the obscure end of the scale. [i]Clin Nucl Med. 2022 Mar 30. doi: 10.1097/RLU.0000000000004165. Online ahead of print.

Buprenorphine - what are the pluses?
I'm currently on 1800 mgs of Gabapentin, which, after a brief reprise, is failing to suppress my PLMs sufficiently. They wake me up and I continue to experience them until they're dismissed by walking up and down. I have just been issued with a Buprenorphine patch. I'm acquainted with the various side

Learning to live with Covid
Since all the rules were dropped in favour of learning to live with covid, I’ve been expecting to see comments on here, perhaps I missed them. As someone who was born with PCD, survived war living in industrial Birmingham, going to bed in cold damp air raid shelter, did my bit by collecting shrapnel

Reply to queries on paper by Bianco et al
This is a reply to a group querying the validity of Bianco et al's paper on T4/T3 prefrence by some patients. I thought it nteresting to read the various arguments so I put it in full here, as it's behind a paywall. Response to Letter to the Editor From Bonnema et al: “Comparative Effectiveness of Levothyroxine

As I write this it’s early morning and

Oximeter Watch
Does anyone have a simple one of these I don’t want an all singing and dancing one. I suffer with cold hands and a conventional Oximeter often won’t work as my finger are cold. Even the doctor ended up having to take my pulse the old way. Thanks Barbs47 x

MUSIC THERAPY FOR ALIEN HAND
My husband who suffers from CBD is increasingly plagued by his hand clenching and clawing, especially at night. We have tried different objects, such as a rubber ball and rolled up towels but they don't ease the problem. I'm wondering about soothing music with headphones as a brain distraction.
