New Nurse Home Visit Service from Blue Horizon Medicals
Since 2009 we've been building up a list of Nurses that are able to provide mobile
phlebotomy
for our patients. It's been quite patchy in terms of geographical coverage, but we've finally got enough contracted nurses to be able to offer a UK wide service.

Chronic fatigue and depression
Hi all. I have not posted in a very long time. I do however, read all your posts and keep you all in my prayers. I am fighting severe exhaustion and depression. I force myself to get out of bed. I am Jak2+ PV diagnosed about two years ago. I have been looking for a new hematologist as I cannot tolerate

Feeling faint
I had my fourth
phlebotomy
ten days ago. Hemoglobin over 14. First time at a hospital. Usually I go to One Blood, which is a donation site. Never had a problem there. They remove the blood by gravity, takes about 25 minutes. I feel fine after.

Vein Vibration
Once I was getting a
phlebotomy
, and as the nurse tried sticking me she felt the vibration, as well. I looked at her and asked if she felt it to. She was almost panicked about it. Does anyone have this going on? Or even know what causes it? Thanks ...have a lovely weekend y'all. Carol

Edinburgh Phlebotomy?
So my one remaining hope is that somebody in Edinburgh has an NHS GP who will also take private (paying) patients for
phlebotomy
, for a reasonable charge. Short of writing to all the GPs in Edinburgh, maybe one of you knows a place? Thanks, June25

The Role of Iron in Diabetes and Its Complications
The role of iron in the pathogenesis of diabetes is suggested by 1) an increased incidence of type 2 diabetes in diverse causes of iron overload and 2) reversal or improvement in diabetes (glycemic control) with a reduction in iron load achieved using either
phlebotomy
or iron chelation therapy.

Asymptomatic high ferritin
Phlebotomy
is the next proposed action. Question-- if I'm otherwise perfectly healthy , should I be worried at all with the high ferritin? --(concerns about cancer , diabetes etc, etc?) Or should I try the
phlebotomy
and see how it goes? Am I missing anything?

Cirrhosis at 35
So, I now will be seeing them every 6 months to monitor what's happening to me, which I'm grateful for, but I'm told that my liver is functioning 'normally', and if the gene work comes back saying I've actually got Haemochromatosis,
phlebotomy
will alleviate the symptoms.

An Arkie w/ PV
Hey. First time poster here. 2004 I was diagnosed w PV. So far I've not taken any meds for this, but do have phlebotomies. In the beginning I had them twice a week but as of this year - only a couple of times a year and my oncologist is very pleased. I'm wondering, tho, what are the chances that

I'm phobic about the finger-prick blood draw
I am not squeamish about the actual blood and I don't mind the little
phlebotomy
needle, but I just can't see myself creating a wound on my finger like that.

Feeling faint
Good morning all. Four more days in Ireland then back home to the USA. I am going to try to have my HGB checked before our nearly 8 hour flight. Always concerned about clots when flying. Question.....occasionally I feel like I am going to pass out. Lasts only a few seconds but very scary. Had three episodes

My blood counts are fine and I haven't needed
phlebotomy
for 18 months. My problem is that I get very breathless after walking a few yards. I have had a chest x ray which was clear an electrocardiogram and an echo cardiovascular which showed my heart to be strong and healthy.

New to listserve: interferon?
Hi Everyone I heard wonderful things about this list-serve and would love to connect with others with MPNs overseas -- I'm from Canada. I was diagnosed with PV one year ago (thought likely had it for almost 3 years) and I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not to go on interferon. I am currently

I am new to PV and this website
Hi, I was diagnosed with PV about a year ago. Have had four phlebotomies so far. I live in the US so I hope I am not intruding. Does everyone have to keep their Hemoglobin levels below 14? I am experiencing severe exhaustion. All I have read says I should take walks, exercise. I do not have the strength

Newbie- supplement help
They called the
phlebotomy
department and asked them and they agreed with them. I contacted an endocrinologist to see about an appointment and they said won't see without a referral from GP but they won't refer. I have been looking at supplements, ie.
