First blood test after starting Peg 17/12/2023
Hi, Blood test from 28/12/2023 Platelets down to 427 (previous 580, 560, 504). Elevated Potassium 5.4 and ALT 96. I guess Peg has elevated ALT?? My next FU is March 14th. I’m really hoping I don’t have to increase Peg which is currently 45 weekly.

What the heck, Thyroid!?
Well, I found myself in this forum by following bread crumbs left by FancyPants54 Thankfully she's a bit messy with her snacks 😊 I've been on Pernicious anemia forum for the past few years dealing with my PA/AMAG. I think I may have been selected by whomever makes such selections to have the benefit

Newly diagnosed with low VitB12
Went to the GP a few months back with menopause symptoms. Mainly sleep issues, anxiety, brain fog and fatigue. The doc ordered a full fasting blood count which come back with me having low vitamin B12 (175), low vitamin D. (live in Scotland so most people are) and folic acid levels on the low side although

/vitamin B12 deficiency who have no choice to self inject are often confused as to the frequency that they should. You may want to consider Hunter’s words, ‘Don’t think, try.’ Your body tells you by symptoms, so listen to it.

Jak 2 exon 12
My rbc and hemoglobin and iron are all high but my mcv hct mch mchc are all. Within range. I tested negative for jak 2 test last year 2022. But because my rbc and hemoglobin are still up my haematology has done a jak 2 exon 12 because they can't under why my bloods are still up. Any information is much

Weaning down off Pregabalin
A medication error occurred when I went to collect my prescription for Pregabelin, and I am not sure that best way to proceed. For the previous three weeks my GP had me on 25mg daily – the low dose is because she said I am very sensitive to medication. As the 25 mg was not controlling my RLS symptoms

What should my optimal vitamin levels be please?
Hi there, I’m trying to get vitamin levels up to hopefully help with poor conversion. Iron was low and I’ve recently retested for that after supplementing for about 3 months. Ferritin is now at 65 ug/L Folate has dropped from >45 a year ago to 8.5ug/L My question is what should they ideally be?

elevated MCHC GP unconcerned
I’m sure she’s right but I was told via text with no opportunity to reply or discuss so wondering if anyone here can shed any extra light. I’m 8 months postpartum and still breastfeeding. I have a long term b12 issue for which I have injections every 8 weeks. Periodically my folate gets low, as it

Intrinsic factor antibody result
Hi all, I've only just seen the result of an Intrinsic Factor Antibody test that was done in December before I started SI which I don't know how to interpret. I got a result of 2 u/ml (reference range is 0-24 u/ml). Is that a positive or a negative result? Does that confirm PA or not? Can someone explain

B12 injections stopped by GP
I have been on B12 injections for 4 years. (I had exhaustion, nausea, headaches etc and B12 was confirmed as being 40.)Had.loading dose and been having 3 monthly injections ever since. Intrinsic Factor was negative, but I do not have a restrictive diet. Anyway, GP decided to check my B12 when I asked

iron overload
An early happy new year to all. Just curious if anyone has iron overload from blood transfusions and if they have started any therapy for this. My husband has high risk MF and has been dependent on monthly blood transfusions since his hemoglobin and hematocrit levels have been low 25 for hematocrit
