PSA level vs vasectomy question
When I had my tubes cut, they were not sewn up or cauterized which I believe is standard practice (in states), I elected to just have a .375" chunk cut out of each of them then and everything stuffed back inside and sewn back scrotum. I did this so they would never be able to be reconnected or reversed

urethral constriction
Had chemo and then cystectomy 10 years ago. Last few years, kidney stones then UTIs, until lithotripsy for the stones. But have urethral constriction, so every 4 month I have stents put through my stoma. Has anyone heard of, or had the procedure done for the constriction using Optilume? Supposedly

Hi all! BC Update with GP.
First I rang Macmillan and they thought it very odd my cancer had gone from high to low. So rang my consultants secretary and she was not there, the people in charge said they were not qualified to help. I saw my GP today and like myself had a letter with no details at the top, this matters because

high TSH and high T4
hi, I’d be grateful for your thoughts on this one. I’ve recently had two blood tests, one on 11th April with a TSH of 8 (abnormal) but T4 of 22 (so still just normal but top of the range). Then another blood test 28th June also with higher TSH of 11 and T4 high but normal at 21. I’ve had Hashimotos

thyroid issues and a fibs???
Does anyone on this site know if there is a link between a fibs and a high TSH blood test? I have been hypothyroid most of my life and have to take synthroid, due to a partial thyroidectomy in my twenties. I am now 69 and have recently developed a fibs. I also might have apnea; am getting a sleep

Totally confused
I had a partial thyroidectomy about 2010. My thyroid levels were fine for several years but then started dropping into hypothyroidism range. I was put on Levothyroxine at 50mg and was ok for few years. Tested Jan 2023 was ok. Tested early Feb 2024 and was hyper not hypo so my gp reduced the levothyroxine

Struggling to have a physical body
I've been diagnosed as BRCA1 positiveIn Nov. 2022 I had a bilateral mastectomy On Aug 17 I had my ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. These were both surgeries to prevent me from hopefully developing cancer in the future. I also have alopecia areata (have had for 19 years) I'm really struggling to

Prominent pathologist at Johns Hopkins on leave, facing bullying claims, WaPo, by Steve Thompson & Katie Shepherd, 10/22/23
Looks to be another case of professional success breeding professional arrogance and familial preference. Seems to be a lot of that going around these days - in all sectors of society. BTW, as a patient, my fav reader comment to the article is: "tell someone that they make a nice anecdote". * * *
