What is an ablasion procedure is it safe?
Diagnosed with AFIB, cardiologist has suggested for me to look into ablasion proceedure. Taking Eliquis but an expensive drug to be on. Research shows this proceedure with ablasion only 70% successful to put heart back in a normal rhythem? Has anyone had this proceedure done?

Depressing cardiology consultation
I am a 73 year old female and I have had AFib for 12 years. My problem is with rhythm, not rate. Just had a cardiology consult after going back into AFib after 18 months on Amiodarone, following my second cardioversion. Quite depressing really. Told to come off the Amiodarone, as it wasn't keeping

Extremely tired of chemical castration
I'm interested in chatting with those who have had an orchiectomy, guess thats how you spell it. I'm tired of all the side affects of cancer drugs and all the problems they cause to my body so I'm concidering having an orchiectomy. Yes I know all about what happens when you get this but as far as I'm

Warfarin and Acetaminophen ? Are there any interaction please ?!
Hello, I'm just wondering which pain medications would not interact with Warfarin please? I know anti-inflammatories are not ok. What about Panadol (Acetaminophen/Paracetamol), is this okay to take while being on Warfarin? Appreciate any information you can provide, Many thanks Rosegardens

Serious shortage of some medicines.
There is an article in today’s Guardian which refers to a serious shortage of some medicines: “Medicine shortages in England ‘beyond critical’, pharmacists warn.” No heart medications are mentioned in the article, but I wondered if anyone had experienced problems obtaining any of their regular heart

A new experience!
Well I’m baffled! I had my third cardioversion (alter 4 ‘failed’ ablations) a week ago today. I then enjoyed 4 days of NSR but on Sunday evening, my Kardia suddenly told me that the arrythmia had returned. Disappointment yet again! My heart rate had gone up to 125+ bpm and I was registering Possible

Persistent and Permanent Atrial Fibrillation

3 years post successful PVI RF Ablation
Had my three year check up, ECG, Holter monitor, PM diagnostic, echo and full bloods. All good. No AFIB since ablation. BP good. PM has many years left. Only meds 15mg zarelto and 40mg micardis. Still have not got back to as much energy as I would like, maybe just getting old.

changeover to Dronedarone
Diagnosed with paroxysmal AFib in 2022, on 2.5 mcg Bisoprolol only until last week. Had only few AFib episodes( 4 in a year) and found beta blocker increasingly difficult to tolerate, especially nausea. Saw an EP cardiologist last Monday who suggested to stop my Bisoprolol , take nothing for 24 hours

Waking in afib & first time PIP experience, love to hear experiences of others...
Summary-Diagnosed 14 months ago, 6 episodes since all cardioverted. Taking apixaban only, couldn't tolerate beta blocker, adizem lowered HR too much. On PFA list. Flecainide (again)
Very interesting post by FraserB earlier. My problem is the opposite. Cardiologist raised my dose to 100mg x2 per day after being on 50mg x2 per day for a year and a half. After the third dose of the 100mg 2 hours before bed I felt terrible. The 2nd dose in morning I felt good with no reaction. Was worried

Eliquis and AF symptoms
Hi all, I've been following the posts on this forum and have received helpful feedback re blood thinners and AF. I was recently diagnosed with AF and was put on Eliquis, which I've not yet started because of what I heard about the side effects. I have bradycardia and experience flutters and lightheadedness

1 year anniversary of Hybrid Mini maze
My 1 year anniversary is actually Saturday but I’m sitting in a church hall acting as a polling Clark for the police and crime commissioners election, I’ve been here since 6:15 am and will finish about 10:15 pm, that alone would of been impossible 12months ago. There’s been highs and lows over the 12months

Pulmonary Vein Isolation
What has been the experience with pulmonary vein isolation I am seriously considering it. Risks? Results? Recovery time? I am 84 Permanent afib that no longer responds to cardioversion. The Electrophysiologist told me 70% chance for results but may not last longer than 7 months. If I do not elect

Anyone on anything a bit unusual and helpful? Any off-label or off-patent drugs?
Curious if anyone is, or has been on any drugs that aren’t the current “big ones”? I was reading a book about cancer and the common re-use of older drugs and off-label prescriptions to create a treatment stack (such as using statins, H2blockers, metformin etc) and it made me think hmm afib is also often
