Cancelled Again
Well here I go again, another cancellation, another wait. I have continual AF for just coming up to two years. I’m on 10mg of Bisoprolol and 62.5 digoxin, plus Apixaban. First appointment with Cardio, told to lose weight and get on with it, no medication, oh ok. Went to GP who gave medication and

Periodic episodes of fluctuating tachycardia while in AFib.
Never had any heart problems until early 2020. I'm a rather robust yet strong guy , late 40s. I suspect COVID may have had something to do with it. Never vaccinated either..went to e.r after having AFib for 16 hrs. Was blacking out at work. Thought I was going to die. Spent 2 days in hospital. Echocardiogram

What to do?
Hi All, I lost a load of weight last year doing a keto diet. Subsequently I didn't have AFib for 18 months. I have Paroxysmal AFib and usually only have 1 AFib a year. I always cardiovert with Flecanide. My Chadvac is 0. However, this year I've put more weight on and blood pressure has risen and I've

Flecainide stopped working
I have been on Flecainide for years & my AF well controlled. Now it has started to cause other arrhythmias so I have to stop it This happened a few years ago & as soon as it was stopped my AF occurred regularly & made me feel very unwell I was able then to restart it but this time it’s not possible

Feel like a bit of a Fraud
I had an AF episode in mid January which lasted 5 hours but by the time I got to hospital everything was normal. Stayed overnight on a heart monitor - nothing, so discharged and told I would he sent a Kardiamobile app but shoukd continue living as normal. NHS then cancelled Kardiamobile and gave me

Some Success with Avoiding Afib
After seeing my Afib rate of incidence go from once every couple of months to once a month to every 2 weeks -10 days, I finally got control of the factors which I believe were driving it.Doing that included: 1. Getting off of most of my blood pressure meds. (I only take 12.5 mg metoprolol twice a day

Should I be concerned about lower resting HR on bisoprolol?
I had my first recorded (though probably 3rd in 3 years) AF incident on Sunday and have got 1.25mg of bisoprolol and 5 mg x 2 pd of apixaban. I am a runner so my resting overnight HR is usually low, say mid 40s. My heart returned to its normal rhythm on Sunday night after about 19 hours in AF. So now

Cardioversion - preparation and aftercare - advice please!
Hi everyone, and hope a day of sunshine has raised spirits!I've been placed on a waiting list for cardioversion by my EP which I'm really happy about. I was diagnosed with AF last September or October (got a cat on my knee so can't get up to check the date!) and this rapidly progressed to persistent.

What is wrong with these drs?
Still doing great on Sotalol, so thankful for my new EP. I went to a new primary care last week, and we discussed my AF briefly. He said "why aren't you on anticoagulants?" "My EP said I don't need it at my age and with how little I get AF." He then brought it up again a short time later, "you might

Fifth Ablation Done
The EP at Lovelace Heart in Albuquerque, Dr. Bestswros, (aka TopGun Maverick) zapped everything in sight after trying the usual suspects. His notes: “Pulmonary vein isolation was performed at the level of the antrum. Successful PVI of LSVP. PVI x 3 confirmed. Rotor ablation for atrial fibrillation.

Afib medications
HiI've been reading all the posts for 5 years but never asked anything until today. I was diagnosed with lone perm afib 6 years ago, i was 64. I was totally asymtomatic but advised to take a anticoagulant and beta blocker. I tried a couple of anticoags before settling on eliquis. I could not tolerate

Flax Seeds and A-fib
Hi everyone, I was thinking of introducing milled flax seeds in to my diet as a health thing after watching a programme on them. However, after doing a Google search I am finding that certain sites are pointing towards it not being a good thing when on Anticoagulants. I’m on Apixiban,Bisoprolol and digoxin

exercise anxiety
I used to be a kean, regular runner and back in July 2020 I went running in extreme heat and didn’t feel as energised as normal and felt very lethargic and my heart rate showed readings of up to 208bpm and quite erratic. Again I just put this down to exhaustion. Anyway cutting a long story short, I felt

Afib or something else
A few months ago my Cardiologist told me to stop taking Flecainide daily, and switch to Pill in the Pocket. This morning I woke, to an irregular heartbeat. Normally when I have Afib I definitely feel it, and I also feel a bit lightheaded. Today is different. My pulse is only a bit higher than usual

Supra Ventricular Ectopy
For the last two to three weeks, I've been having a lot of PACS. Prior to that, I haven't had much of any irregular beats for the last six months. These episodes last for hours, (until my PIP kicks in) and have a high frequency, up to every other beat. I've had two ablations and currently don't take

AF Initial symptoms but tests unhelpful
My first choice gp suspected
Paroxysmal
atrial
fibrillation
and helpfully ordered ecg, blood tests and X-ray. I have had to see another gp for results which show nothing, yet I still have symptoms. Waiting for a longer- test of heartbeat (not sure the name or how long I’ll wait).
