Alternative Therapy to Preserve Renal Transplants
I had a live-donor renal transplant 13 years ago, but I'm well aware that such transplants usually only last 15 years so I am looking for ways to preserve its function. I now take Renadyl, which contains microflora which have been shown in several scientific studies to reduce levels of uremic toxins

Second transplant
I am 34 and about 3 years ago received my second kidney Transplant. My first when I was 20. I have yet to meet anyone with a kidney transplant let alone 2 and at my age. It’s hard to find friends to relate to what I go through on a day to day let alone when I get sick. Just wondering if anyone deals

Flu jab & getting ready for winter
Went to the GP to get my flu jab earlier which I'm hoping will keep me protected over the winter. I've also been put back on doxycycline to give me a base level protection now that the sun is on the wane. Not overly pleased by this as I hate the hot flushes and burning feeling I get when I take the tablets

Volunteers needed to help with our first liver screening project
Every organization needs volunteers. We are doing a pilot research study in Houston using FibroScan screening for unidentified fatty liver (NAFLD AND NASH) liver disease. These diseases are usually silent and people often become ill before they learn that their liver is damaged. Our goal is to provide

Any liver transplant folks in Houston who would like to help educate people as part of a screening project for undiagnosed liver disease?
We are going to be screening high risk but asymptomatic patients in Houston as part of a research study. We need a couple of people with knowledge of liver disease to explain things to patients taking part. We plan to start October 1st and run for 3 months.

Quality of Life of Transplant vs PD
I am a 65 year old married male with two adult children and two grand children. I have been on PD for about nine months and found it NOT to be a significant burden. I am contemplating going on the Kidney Transplant waiting list. I am interested in input on Life Style Positives and Negatives of transplant

Para Aortic LN Surgery Update & Question
Thought it was time I should give update on my surgery since I had great support and advice from everyone on this site when I posted in May 2018 when I had first recurrence in para aortic lymph node. Turns out surgery was not possible laparoscopically - the tumour was in a pretty dangerous spot - right
