Pain control
The Pain Clinic has suggested I take Tapentadol. I can't find anything about it on the internet. Has anybody taken this drug and could tell me about it.

off pred…. Update
good morning all. I have now been ‘off’ pred for 6 weeks. It’s been a bumpy ride. I started to have pain in my knees and thighs, which made walking and exercise difficult( never had this before). I took pain killers and reminded myself that the HPA triangle may not be up to speed. I started hydrotherapy

Relapse with blurred vison
Hi all All was going pretty well, managed to taper from 80 mg to 6 mg after almost 2 years (in april) after initial blurred vision/AF. Have not had any serious side affects or major relapses, one incident with raised CRP/ESR while tapering at 40 but markers settled. Then out of the blue today had

Yet more scans, and still stable.
I think I let you all know somewhere here, that I may have to change treatments, due to my Cancer markers rising all the time. I’m feeling more and more pain. Getting more and more tired. But they can’t see anything changing on my scans. so I will remain on Anastrozole and Ibrance for now. This is both

I'm desperately confused and frightened, and looking for advice. Probably quite a long post coming up (sorry). Severe pain in the neck
So in Oct last year I was told that the discs in my neck are pressing on my spinal cord which is causing me to loose sensation in my hands and I'm in constant severe pain , I was told I needed surgery as soon as it was possible but I'm still waiting, everytime I phone my surgeon's secretary I'm told

cold face
I have systemic sclerosis, Raynaud’s, and fibromyalgia (plus other stuff). I also have stiffness and aching on the right side of my face neck and shoulder which I think is myofascial pain syndrome. However, those areas also feel very cold as though I am sitting in a draught . It can last for several

Headaches
I’ve always suffered with headaches….For the past 8/9 months they’ve become worse and for the past 5/6 weeks they have become daily. I’ve visited my doctor who said I was overdosing on analgesic over the counter drugs and to stop taking them immediately, write a headache diary and she would call me

Abdominal pain and now high amylase?
My partner already has family history. Now along with abdominal pain, he also has high amylase. I am not sure if amylase is an indicator of pancreatic cancer or not?

Tims Run Clonakilty Marathon County Cork Ireland. My first marathon distance!
Yesterday was to be my first marathon. All went well apart from the weather where it rained continuously for a week. Unfortunately, it was cancelled on Thursday due to severe flooding and everyone was moved to half. There was an option to defer on Friday afternoon for next year, but I could not cancel

Glaucoma suspect
I had my annual eye test yesterday and my pressures were 26 in both eyes, which was a big shock as a year ago they were 23. I was very nervous, which could have made them worse, but this is such a massive jump. Also, the nerve in one eye was a bit thin at the end, though she said that this eye looked

Good morning my MS friends. Without the miserable recap, 2022 Sucked! Welcome 2023, some highlights. Annual MRI and Eye exam in December- no new activity or eye issues Took a shower without a bench on Christmas morning, felt like a big girl. Just starting no walking boot while indoors, amen hallelujah

The fine hospital scheduling
The title on the email is re: surgery Dec. 7th, 2022. So I open the attachment, It is for December 22nd, 2022. I will call on Monday to see if the Doc is lit on Egg Nog! He is only getting paid $420 per toe to fuse 3 of them! (hammer toe). Either way, does anyone know how Egg Nog goes with pain pills

OZURDEX® and Floater
Unfortuneately the Eyelea injections did not work (I will post a more detailed update another time) and so I was given an OZURDEX® injection. Whilst I thought the Eyles injections painful this was agony (I seem virtually immune to those useless numbing drops). Now things are settled I sometimes see a

Cataracts
I haven't written for a while, but thought I'd share my positive experience with my cataract treatment. I had an eye test back in the Spring 2022, where the optician noticed my cataracts where slowly worsening. Come last Autumn I noticed a rapid increase in the blurriness and fuzziness in my vision.

Eight weeks ago I came home from a walk, sat down and was hit by a tremendous pain radiating across my back and was sick. Then crashed on to the bed and woke up in hospital the next morning. I have no memory over what happened to me for 24 hours. My husband had phoned for an ambulance which took

Feeling 'drunk' and wearing contact lenses after trab surgery!
HiDoes anyone who has had Trabeculectomy surgery wear contact lenses? And does anyone relate when I say since the op I feel slightly drunk?? Sorry this post is so long.......... Having had a Trab in Sept I feel my vision has changed, which I was told would probably happen. Before surgery I wore glasses

Pleurisy came on without warning! Ouch!!!
I woke up one morning with the worse side pain ever. Very scary. Went to get CT scan: good news no blood clots or pneumonia; bad news cancer in pleural cavity. Ugh!!!! At home with meds and painkillers resting. Yep this MBC is like a wild rollercoaster 🎢 ride. Looks like turkey 🦃 sandwiches and chips
