Gah!
After my last reaction to the
paclitaxel
that's it. I'll not be having it again and so Plan D is to only do the carboplatin.

I had my second chemo Palitaxel/ Carbo, with the promise of a very slow drip for the
Paclitaxel
on Friday, due to 2 previous allergic reactions. They gave me extra steroids too, which have me bouncing off the walls. My face is all puffy! Is that normal?

Six cycles of carboplatin and
paclitaxel
has been recommended. I am trying to decide if that is my best choice. Any who have had any other treatment or number of cycles to share? My research doesn't convince me the recommended course of adjuvant chemo is necessarily the only possibility

Plan C is Plan A. Again.
Apparently the pacilatxel and carboplatin are the drugs clinically proven to be best for the OCCC, and said the plan is try
paclitaxel
again on a very slow drip with extra steroids and antihistamines.

I'm sitting in the oncology unit after a second allergic reaction to
paclitaxel
despite enough steroids to help me pull a tractor with my teeth. They did a very slow drip for 15 mins which was fine. Then upped the speed and within a few minutes had chest pain and throbbing arms.

Impatient patient update
I got a call from the appointments office today and have been booked onto the oncology ward for Friday so they can re-challenge and try the
paclitaxel
again in a safer environment. No mention was made of steroids beforehand though. Perhaps they'll simply up the dose on the day?

Not a patient patient
Last week I had my first chemo,
Paclitaxel
, and had a severe allergic reaction 10 seconds in - that was NOT part of the plan! The oncologist wanted them to re-challenge but the nurses refused.

Went in for first chemo and it was a nightmare as I had a very severe allergic reaction to the
paclitaxel
. I was supposed to have three hours of that then an hour of carboplatin.

paclitaxel
,which is best option? B. Without cheemo directly can i move to harmone therapy, which sequence of treatment is best? C. If I go for cheemo before harmone therapy,is any chances of spread the cells?

Docetaxel (Taxotere) for Ovarian cancer
I started off with Carboplatin and
Paclitaxel
, but I had a severe allergic reaction to
Paclitaxel
on the first attempt and consequently it was stopped and my oncologist decided to go ahead with just Carboplatin.
