What's life like with a pacemaker?
Hi, I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who is living with a
pacemaker
. My father is 85 and has been recommended a
pacemaker
by his cardiologist following 2 collapses, a slow heart rate and slow atrial fibrillation.

Improving EF
I have LV imparement with an EF of 25% and after a failed attempt at a
pacemaker
implant my question is - can I raise my EF even although I don't have a
pacemaker
? I take lots of meds, feel well and keep active. Your thoughts appreciated, thank you.

In the seven year interval I have ben given a
pacemaker
. blood thinners blood pressure pills beater blockers, and more. I also have Atrial fibrillation as pacemakers dont get rid of AF. I do sound sorry for myself, I'm not as there is so many of you all out there with much worse.

Slow heart rate
One electrophysiologist wants me to have a
pacemaker
and another (for a second opinion) says I don't need one. I function very well during the day, have a good night's sleep and am not fatigued.

brain pacemaker for pwp
So now I’d like more information about the
pacemaker
for Parkinson’s because I’m tired of falling over and breaking various bones.

Is that correct how a

AV Node Ablation
I had this procedure done on 6 October and I have an appointment next Friday at the
Pacemaker
Clinic for my PM to be re-programed to 70 bpm and then 4 weeks later reduced again to 60 bpm. What I want to know is when and how I can reduce my medication - currently 160mg x 2 daily of Sotolol.

CRT pacemaker. Post op
Hi, This may sound ridiculous but has anyone had any left hand/wrist pain 2 months down the line of having a CRT
pacemaker
fitted? I think it’s nerve pain as the
pacemaker
has bedding in. It feels like I have broken my wrist.

I have had a
pacemaker
fitted and had to have it without sedation. But staff talk to me all the time to distract me, and it really helped.. I have bad shoulders, and I’m not sure I can hold my arms above my head for the required time. Are your arms outstretched?

Over 2 Litres or Not???
I am getting a
pacemaker
and defrillator on Wednesday, cant wait till it's over, i've never been anywhere near an operating theatre in my life, but that's beside the point. My problems were discovered 2 months and i was immediately put on the 2 litres of fluids a day.

Hip Replacement
Has anyone had hip replacement surgery with a
pacemaker
. I have already had a hip replaced but that was before being diagnosed with Heart Failure and having a
pacemaker
. Just wondered if it is possible as I was told I would probably need the other hip replaced at some point.

Low Heart Rate
I think I may be a candidate for a
pacemaker
after all. But I had excellent advice from everyone and I will discuss all my options. I don't have any dizziness thank goodness but the low energy makes me very lazy and just not feeling myself. Feeling a bit down.😔

Could I stop taking Rivaoxaban?
I’ve been on Flecainide, Bisoprolol and Rivaoxaban now for 5 years and have a
pacemaker
, my heart is in sinus rhythm at 60bpm. I understand that Rivaoxaban is to help prevent blood clots forming, but as my AF is now managed could I stop taking it?

Bloods
So I've had my blood results back bnp levels done for heart faliure, it's looking like it's the start of heart failure so can be managed hopefully with meds and in future need for maybe a
pacemaker
, there are also other blood issues that I did bring up that need looking at as are always abnormal.
