My last ECG showed I have a trifascicular block. Doc didn't explain and first time I'd heard of it read abit about it and not pleasant.i have a pacemaker so that helps. Anyone know anything about it and how it affects AFib

A trifascicular block

Sounds like you won't need AV node ablation then.
sorry Bob don't understand that comment. Had an ablation march last year.
I’m afraid you haven’t really given us complete information. Was it an ablation for AV node or a PV ablation? If it was a PV ablation to stop AF then what was the outcome?
An AV node ablation makes you entirely dependant upon pacemaker anyway so whatever the heart block wouldn’t really make much difference to you as it will be the pacemaker which controls your heart beat as the electrical signals would not be getting through after the AV node has been destroyed. AV node ablation is a last resort treatment for very symptomatic AF however it doesn’t always stop the AF - just isolates the ventricles which are controlled by the pacemaker so you have a steady pulse but may still feel palpitations. Hope that makes sense.
On my consultants letter March 2022 it says catheter ablation of mitral valve re- entry left atrial tachycardia, so don't know whether it was AV or PV. Ablation was successful. But the trifascicular block has not been mentioned by any cardiologist until my most recent review in March 2023. It has not been discussed or explained to me but was a one liner in a letter to my GP. Thats as much as I know.
