Finally seen the respiratory consultant!
This weekend I had my appointment with the respiratory/ asthma consult after waiting around 6 months due to COVID. It was overall very positive and the doctor was lovely and really took the time to listen to me, and agreed that my level of control isn’t acceptable at all. He sent off some bloods to

Advice please?
Hi all I wondered if anyone had any knowledge on the effects of stopping steroid nasal sprays for 3 weeks then changing to another brand? Would this restart asthma symptoms? I had a new asthma diagnosis and felt very lucky to become to be under control for 5 weeks! Taking : 100 fostair 4 puffs a day

Active Tb
Hello all, I am writing to share my story. I am a doctor myself as well. My symptoms started 6 months ago. I felt difficulty in breathing while climbing stairs. At this time I consulted a doctor, had an xray which mistakenly was thought to be normal and was started on bronchodilators for query exercise

Breathing worries
My husband has recently been diagnosed with COPD but is suffering badly with cough and is struggling to breathe. Our doctor has given him a steroid inhaler, and will see him in surgery on Tuesday. Can they carry out s spirometry test, or is this not available during lockdown. He has been up most of

Shallow breathing for days
Hello all, I was diagnosed with asthma about a year ago right in the middle of lockdown at the beginning of the pandemic. What a stressful time for a lung condition to develop! I've been okay since September/October but now, at almost exactly the same time as it originally came on, I'm experiencing quite

Brown inhaler side effects
Hi, i have been suffering from a burning tongue lately and wondered if it could be related to using brown inhaler? Admittedly i dont always rinse my mouth afterwards and i bought a spacer a month ago so think it could be connected. Appreciate any advice on this. Many thanks Jaid.

Consultant appointment - good outcome
Finally had my consultant's appointment on the 28th April, he was lovely. Sent me for a follow up CT which is done and will be going for a bronchoscopy on the 18th May to follow up on the ground glass from previous CT. Didn't change my inhalers said he would wait and see. I had wrote here to say I had

Almost a year and still no diagnosis, don't know what to do
Last year I started to have bouts of breathlessness which I've never had before (27m) this stemmed into coughing up sticky pale yellow strings or chunks, as gross as it sounds, since then I undertook a peak flow test, I took home a device, which was inconsistent, I was given both types of inhaler with

Do I need to restart prednisolone after a few episodes of breathlessness?
Hi all, hope you’re ok. After 6 courses (and stepping down) of prednisolone over the last 7 months, I finished my last ones 18 days ago. I found that I needed ventolin once a day for the first few days after, then was fine with breathing for the next 8 days without any ventolin, just still had a cough

Lung vibration laying down 😭
After some words of wisdom please. So in summary, had pneumonia 12 weeks ago.2x antibiotics/steroids/inhalers. 3 x clear chest x-ray, 1x clear HRCT scan. Slightly productive cough persists, chest tightness/sob persist but most annoyingly is the lung vibration..... It’s only at night or when laying

Trimbow .
Hello all , I had to stop using Trimbow inhaler, as it was making my breathing worse ,after less than 2 weeks . I have gone back to my original inhalers , fostair and incruse, though they don't seem to do much I suppose they do help . 🤔

Does anyone use a peak flow meter
I’m completely baffled. I had an Echocardiogram 2 weeks ago. Had a Triple Bypass and Mitral Valve Repair 18 months ago. Last September getting more & more breathless and dizzy. Appointment with cardiologist cancelled in January. Collapsed in March. Hospital for 3 days - discharged with Heart Failure

Muscle fatigue
Long time since I’ve been on site..lots of life events to deal with not to mention the lockdown ...thankfully now had both jabs and returning to the world slowly and safely. Over the passed months I’ve been suffering from my muscles being extremely tired and at times painful. Just wanted to know if

Inhaler technique
Today, at a hospital lung function test, I was told that to do the ‘one breath and hold’ technique is better than tidal breathing, if I can, that is. I have never been told that before, so now I have to rethink. Also, I am worried that my fingers won’t have enough strength to do this. I also thought,

Symbicort and increased hunger, bizarre dreams?
Strange question but has anyone experienced increased hunger on symbicort or any other steroid inhaler. Since I've been on it I've been really hungry and keep getting the munchies 🤣😂. Not going to do my waistline any good (already got bigger during lockdown lol). Am I going mad or have others experienced
