After 6 courses (and stepping down) of prednisolone over the last 7 months, I finished my last ones 18 days ago. I found that I needed ventolin once a day for the first few days after, then was fine with breathing for the next 8 days without any ventolin, just still had a cough.
Over the last week I’ve started getting a bit breathless again in the afternoon and taken 2 puffs of ventolin which has sorted it out. Yesterday I had to take 10 in a spacer, then felt ok. I’m worried to start on some more pred because I’ve had so many 😫🥺. I’m wondering if I take Ventolin every 4 hours things might just settle down, what do you think? 😬
My usual inhaler is Duoresp 320 2 puffs twice a day; Spiriva since beginning of March and Montelukast added nearly 3 weeks ago.

My inclination (and knowing you know yourself as well as anyone can given the complexity of your situation at the moment) would be to do that today and maybe tomorrow and see. If you need to keep doing that you maybe need the pred but it might be a passing thing. But if it gets worse, escalate.
Love Ventolin. Like you, I cane off my Pred. And Ventolin saves me. I use it at least 4 times a day. Do you have a breathing machine? I use it first thing in the morning to open up lungs (albuterol) and once again at bedtime. Am trying like mad to stay off prednisone (I lost half my hair). Good luck. Also if you get bad, prednisone is a life saver. Good luck 🍀👍🏻
