Asthma
I was prescribed Flovent for my asthma because it has no to little effect on the heart. It is how ever a steroid. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thank you. Still hopeful.

Hi Asthma Friends Middle of the night again, 2 vento + 2 atrovent again.. I had the specialist appointment in Lyons with Professeur Cottin last week. He was very good, answered all my doubts. he was dictating his report straight away in front of me, checking I agreed..total trust! The sporadic LAM

Does it ever get better?
I am a 46 year old female that was diagnosed with asthma 4 years ago even though probably always had a very mild case looking back. Things blew up in the fall that year being exhausted with three young kids and have never been the same except for a glorious remission of symptoms for an 8 month period

Despairing as keep being told ' it's not typical asthma' so won't officially diagnose
Hi, I wrote a post on here the other day, long story short.... ? Asthma since March this year following bronchitis episodes. Ever since started having ' attacks' I keep being told that it's asthma, but isn't' as my symptoms aren't text book. When I was admitted to hospital following 2 acute attacks

Any advice appreciated:)
I'm 48 and long story short, had 3 episodes of bronchitis in 2 months earlier this year. this, my specialist says, triggered adult asthma. Well.....kinda. As Chest was always clear, not wheezing, o2 levels ok and as I also have a chronic cough (prolonged, deep) difficulty in inhaling ( can't use inhaler

Lung Volume Reduction using Pulmonary Valves. (Revisited)
Back in November 2012, I wrote an article "Lung Volume Reduction using Pulmonary Valves. My experiences as a patient." The content of that post is still relevant, and may help some of the new members. So I decided to re-post it; Here it is:- Lung Volume Reduction using Pulmonary Valves. My experiences

Hypertonic nebulisers
Hi would appreciate advice on hypertonic nebulisers. Is it something that is routinely prescribed in adult patients with PCD? I have been on nebulised antibiotic therapy along with atrovent for many years. Just wondering whether I would benefit by adding hypertonic saline nebs pre physio? Many thanks

Hello
I'm a 54 yr old female and I've had asthma since birth. Now for the past I don't know how many years, I've been on ProAir HFA, Flovent, Foradil, and spiriva. It worked great. But foradil went bye-bye. So I just went to a new lung dr. and now things are not good! I tried Breo with a LOT of breathing

Update on inhalers
Hi all. Had Brompton follow up to change of inhalers today. Pleased that I saw the dr who looked after me when I was in the Brompton early June, and who oversaw tests and change of inhalers. My blood gasses were better today. Had a long chat, and she could see how dry and breathless I was. So she has

Pulmonary rehab cancelled
Supposed to go for rehab assessment tomorrow but have just rescheduled it for Sept. My breathing is so bad. Don't think new inhalers Spiriva and Symbicort are doing me much good. On them for 5 weeks now, and breathing seems worse to me, and not sure they suit me. Really struggling and fed up! I have

Flovent Users
Does anyone use Flovent? I am trying to determine the cause of shortness of breath that I have been having the past couple of months. Started Flovent in April and this has been going on since May. Just wondered if there were others that had any problems with it. Thanks

Symbicort 400/12 and Spireva
Was on Flixotide and Atrovent, but changed 2 weeks ago to above inhalers. I have reduced lung function due to scoliosis, which has got worse according to lung function tests. I am finding my nose and mouth uncomfortably dry, and don't think my breathing has improved much yet. the pollen is extremely

Disappointing..
Hospital appointment was a total disaster. They had lost or erased my scanner CD so Dr. Lazor was unable to give an opinion on the LAM. I could see nobody had read my file. The young intern was more concerned with my post nasal drip. I said I had had an endoscopy that I had no polyps and was diagnosed

Back to the side effects
I take accolate 20 and symbicort to control my breathless between exerbations but it's not quite enough, I have been given Atrovent and spiriva to help but I have problems with them both. Dizziness nausea and severe headaches. I am wondering if I can take it through my nebuliser with less side effects

Taking medication
I have been told to use my Atrovent inhaler twice before my symbicort but I am not sure how long before, do I need to wait 15 mins or is immediately ok? Does anyone else use it like this?
