Done and dusted.
Just to let you know the operation on my foot went very well and the surgeon is pleased. Have to wear a "boot" for 6 weeks - the first 2 weeks day and night. I call it my Manola Blahnik. It is large, heavy and cumbersome and makes you lopsided but did manage to wash my hair yesterday without toppling

Yet another issue with HAH.
I was due a delivery of Enbrel today between 8 and 1. No results on the HAH eta website all morning, so I rang their number, only to be placed on hold. When I get through to an operative, she informs me that my delivery will be by courier, so will be with me, "about now, but by 1 o'clock". It's 12.30

Anyone had a quickish response with Rituximab?
I say this as I know it is documented as not being such a fast worker due to the way it is administered. I have done some research as to how one receives it etc (to the disdain of my rheumys!!) but I refuse to go unresearched into such a medication. I saw it documented that it usually takes 50 days

Cracked and bleeding fingers
Hi friends I need help I'm at end of my tether. I have done most of the biological drugs. Enbrel, Humira and for the past 2 years Cimzia. However about 8 months ago my breathing got very bad. I could only walk a couple of steps, this was put down to my COPD. But last June all of a sudden the skin on

Enbrel
2nd injection today. Used stomach and definitely didn't hurt very much at all. Leg is still sore from last week slight reaction around site. Haven't got enough strength in finger or thumb to press plunger maybe that will return soon. So far so good on results fingers crossed well one from each hand

Problems with availability of 50mg MyCLIC Enbrel pens
Hi all We have just been made aware of a Europe-wide problem with the availability of the 50mg MyCLIC Enbrel pens. If you are on this method of Enbrel, the following statement from Healthcare at Home on the NRAS site may be useful to you: http://nras.org.uk/news_events/statement_from_health_care_at_home_on_enbrel_deliveries

I know that many of you have been having problems with Healthcare at Home, Don't know if anyone has read this , it appeared on my fb page
Statement from Healthcare at Home: Late last week Pfizer, the manufacturer of Enbrel, confirmed that there is a Europe-wide intermittent disruption in the supply of the 50mg MyCLIC pre-filled Enbrel pens. Healthcare at Home is working with Pfizer, the Department of Health and the NHS to manage supply

One Less Worry
Saw the Gastroenterologist yesterday who confirmed the acid reflux was nowhere near bad enough to require surgical intervention. The endoscopy I had 18 months ago had not shown up any major problems and he advised me to not only raise the bed head but also the foot, to take Lansaprazole at night rather

A quick hello!
Hi everyone, I'm new here and just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Heather, I'm 20, and I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis almost 5 years ago (has it really been that long?). It affects my left knee and both elbows but Enbrel + MTX has worked absolute wonders despite having to scare/panic myself

Enbrel
1st injection last friday. Nurse suggested front of thigh. Never again. Will try stomach next time. Now not hurting, teeth, spine, hips, shoulders plus hands and feet. Swelling going down everywhere. Also feel like a weight has been lifted from my chest and able to breathe more easily. Am delighted

Hi everyone, will be starting Enbrel and I am very nervous about these biologic drugs. Any feed back would be so welcome.
Also on 25 mg. injectable methotrexate weekly. All of the RA drugs make me very nervous. Diagnosed one year ago with RA and psoriatic arthritis.

Still Waiting (5) NOT.
Yippee - I have a date for my foot operation. 7th February at 8 a.m. Only 14 months since GP first referred me and 6 months since the op was cancelled last July! In view of the time I would assume I will be first on his operating list that morning. I telephoned the Day Centre today to find out what

Is there a Link between lack of sleep ( working nights ) and symptoms made worse??
Hi everyone, happy new year! My name is Antony, I've had RA for 4 years, I'm on enbrel and mtx! Am also on nortriptyline as I get fibro pain too, and struggle sleeping for over an hr at a time. I work in a warehouse on a forklift truck doing shift work! I do really struggle and had my hours reduced from

Still Waiting (4) and other things
Happy New Year to one and all. Hope it is a good one and a step nearer to finding a cure for this wretched disease. Been in a flare for the last week or so with feet, elbows, shoulders and knees affected. Walking awkwardly anyway because MY FOOT IS STILL NOT DONE!! Still nothing from the Hospital

Happy New Year!
Hi. I haven't posted on here for a while but do read other posts. Just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year. I'm 37 and have had RA for nearly 2 years now. Tried various medication, now on Mtx injections and Enbrel, finally there is light at the end of the tunnel. I still haven't got the courage

Should we be writing to our MPs regarding the difficulties we are experiencing with drug deliveries from healthcare at home?
As an RA patient who has missed two enbrel injections due to the changes at Healthcare at Home I am becoming increasingly worried that the company will not be able to resolve their current delivery problems quickly. The standard apology letter sent out does not really acknowledge the stress or distress

Cross-fit training and RA
I have had to stop Enbrel after 10 years because of expense. I'm trying cross-fit training as a replacement. Any experiences? Bulling my way through RA as it were.

and the new drug is...................
Abatacept. RA nurse has ordered it, and given me the info box, plus instructions on the injection (I thought it was going to be infused, but no, I shall inject). She thinks it wont take to long for the delivery company to get it organised. Only off putting thing about the injection, is that it is

RA nurse tomorrow for next drug
9.39 appointment, I am sure the rheumatologist said last time that I am going onto abatacept. (But I do have a head like a sieve, so could be wrong). I have only been on mxt since enbrel was stopped in July, had a major flare up for 3 weeks, but rheumy gave me the magic steroid jab, so am not too bad
