Hi, I have been on

Delayed Lynparza (Olaparib)Reaction
I started Lynparza (
Olaparib
) on 5/19 (PSA 172). By 7/5 (+7 weeks ) my PSA was 222 and it was decided to discontinue the drug, get a port, and prepare for chemo. At the first chemo appt on 8/10 (+12 weeks), the blood test showed that my PSA had fallen to 194.

Mammograms
Have had standard chemo, debulking + 2 years of
Olaparib
and doing well to date. My question is around mammograms: what is the usual checks for ladies with OC history? I would imagine it varies widely however my GP stated it would be as normal, i.e. when I am called for the normal 5 year checks?

My mother's good news
She will continue taking
Olaparib
. We are beyond thankful. She was diagnosed with OC Stage 4 in Dec, 2019 followed by surgery, pleural effusion draining and 6 rounds of chemo. She has been on
Olaparib
since September 2020 (you can read her full story in my bio).

Update
I am on the Module 4 trial at the Marsden of
Olaparib
and AZD. However some very adverse side effects including pneumonitis last cycle means that the trial hangs in the balance for me. It may be considered too risky to continue.

Olaparib and hair dye
But as
olaparib
is a type of chemo, I'm a bit wary of strong chemicals in case my hair is still not at full strength! Does anybody taking
olaparib
use hair dye or highlights on a regular basis to reassure me please?! Thank you lovely ladies 😊

I will be going on

but looking for any trial or study that might be of benefit. I’m an hour away from Christie’s Manchester. I’m not great on internet research 🧐 This is my first blog and post 😘

2nd line treatment
I was commenced on
Olaparib
in November 2022 and the Avastin continues. I’ve been experiencing some pelvic pains albeit infrequently for the past few weeks and my CA125 has risen from 137-163 over 6 weeks.

Looking For Other Options
I stress I am still going down the conventional route (been on
Olaparib
for 18 months) but would like to see what else I can do to give me a fighting chance (stage 4). My oncologist is unhelpful in this area so cant go to him.

olaparib timings
i am curious about how disciplined you are with
olaparib
dosage timings since it is recommended to have every 12 hours. I have the tablets after breakfast and dinner as I feel less nauseous after food. But my meal timings vary daily by an hour either ways..
