Genetics test has BRAC2 mutation
I am still on Lupron though.
Keep us posted, I too am BRCA2 positive. Still on Lupron/Zytiga and eventually I will be where you are at
I am still on the combo. It is still working for me. I was tested 6 months after diagnosis. Spoke with a genetisist and was very interesting. Been on the combo since June 2016
Hi - Lynparza worked a good 8.5 months for my husband. He has been on Lupron for 3.5 years as well.
Does braca 2 mean one can't take steroids ? Dies anyone know if you carry the gene if this is a rule etc? I'm sorry I can't answer your question on this drug bc my dad took xtandi . What's the brand name of the drug in question and I can let you know what happened when he took bc it's all on record but I forget the names of all bc he did every possible theapt except bat and car-t
Please someone tell me how to get tested ..how invasive is the biopsy or genetic testing bc he can't be opened up .I will be posting but things are very very bad and he's in a rehab rt now fighting ti live another day.
I am biallelic BRCA2, was 18 months on Ola, PSA dropped from 0.36 to 0.11, very effective especially if you are chemo-naive. Used 3/4 dose to reduce SE, some cough after hot meals and burning sensation during the first phase of the night. Avoided eating three hours before going to bed, helped a lot. Compared to previous use of Enza, SE almost absent. Hard aerobic exercise also improved the situation.
Had genetic testing on removed prostate. BRCA2 germline and somatic. Been on ADT off and on since early 2018. Hoping to avoid Olaparib until I absolutely have to due to the claimed side effects although a responder here said SE weren't bad. Not as much of a death sentence as I initially believed due to the bad press around BRCA2. Good luck on your journey.
One more important note, if you are biallelic BRCA2 - avoid chemo, there is cross-resistance between Docetaxel and Olaparib.
BRCA2+. On Olaparib for 2 years, 18 months PSA was undetectable. No significant side effects. After Olaparib, this genetic mutation became wild type, whereby it was no longer actionable.
Was mapped in titan trial...no brca' s.....but found out ....likely breast cancer....might explain ductal hystology on biopsy...also for colon cancer....7 precancerous polyps just removed....the brca tesing was for study to see if like womens breast cancer they can fore tell pc in men....you guys who have brca 1 or 2 should tell offspring....be watchful....
