Looking For Other Options

Having just read a book 'Radical Remission' detailing the steps others have taken to deal with their cancer, i am now searching (with no success) for an alternative practitioner in the UK who can advise on supplements. I stress I am still going down the conventional route (been on Olaparib for 18 months) but would like to see what else I can do to give me a fighting chance (stage 4). My oncologist is unhelpful in this area so cant go to him. Anyone out there in the UK who has had any experience with alternative healing particularly with vitamin supplement's. its quite specific apparently so just doing your own research on the internet may not cut it!!! thanks everyone

Hi, I read that book and found it very inspiring. I also read The Cancer Revolution, Integrative Medicine The Future of Cancer Care which I found out about via the ovarian cancer podcast. This is the book written by a charity called Yes to life yestolife.org.uk/

They have a great website all about the integrative approach. Have a look. They have a helpline too and loads of resources online, including I think where you might find an alternative practitioner. Worth checking them out if you haven’t already.

Good luck and best wishes

Laura

There’s a whole host of people following this type of approach - a great place to ask for advice is Always Hope Cancer Facebook group x

Hi there, I'm currently contacting a recommended Oncology Team, that treat using similar protocol to Jane Mclelend book " How to starve cancer". Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but they are in the UK. Google Care oncology clinic, Harvey Street.

Hope this might be of help.

Have a look at the courses and events (some online) run by the Penny Brohn Centre. They advocate supplementing conventional treatments with a sensible approach to nutrition and other supplementary approaches. They do a lot of info sheets, I think maybe one on supplements. They were formerly The Bristol Cancer Centre. Very reliable support.

Hi,

I have Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer 1A and decided not to get any chemo after surgery due to my low stage and its chemo resistance but I was very interested in what else I could do to prevent it from coming back. I discovered a great resource on the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center website that listed all kinds of Chinese Medicine supplements/herbs and studies about their effectiveness. It really helped me to understand what could help.

I’m following Jane. McLelland’s How to Starve Cancer protocol as best I can . Similar concept in some ways. I’m convinced the more you feel in control the better. I can give you a link to my list if you DM me. Best wishes
