Palliative care, does it still exist?
I saw a consultant , for the first time since well before lockdown, on the 14th September. I'd never met him before but he was really great. He'd obviously read my notes as he asked about all my conditions, osteoporosis, swollen legs etc. He said my lung condition is now too far gone to put me through

Question about Celiac or NCGS...
I am wondering if anyone with NCGS gets neurological symptoms? I am also wondering about Celiac; if you test negative - does that mean you definitely are not Celiac? Last tests I got was when I was off gluten - blood and endoscope. So found nothing... Took a private finger prick one the other day, awaiting

hypothyroidism and stomach ulcers
I've just been diagnosed with stomach ulcers. They've sent a prescription through for a heavy dose of Proton pump inhibitors. But I have questions. For example, how do they know its excess stomach acid causing the ulcers? I thought or perhaps read somewhere that when you're hypothyroid (even if euthyroid

Stomach issues
Morning all, So I am just about at my wits end with chronic gastric reflux and chronic wind up and down without much smell. Sometimes I vomit with it, and now I can only eat jasmine rice and even struggle to get water down at the moment. My stomach feels like I have been beat up from the inside

Hello everyone, I realise this may not be relevant on this site, but I’ve been struggling with palpitations and anxiety for a few months. I had put this down (see previous posts) to the adrenals not wanting to play ball after their nice long holiday, due to Pred, but it suddenly dawned on me that this

accidental overdose of thyroxine
I’m on 100 mcg thyroxine and the kart prescription they only had 25 mcg so I was taking 4 tablets a day and then the recent prescription was 100 mcg. I’ve just realised today that I’ve been taking 4 100 mcg a day I think for 4 days from how many are gone. In a bit of a panic. I’ve rang 111 and they called

Bad dumping incident?
Hi there. Just thought I’d reach out to see if anyone can relate to my situation. I’m over 5 months from three way Oesophageal Surgery. I was doing really well with eating and fitness levels. Then last Friday (after a Chinese takeaway which didn’t consist of more than some noodles and a bit of chicken

Simvastatin v Atorvastatin
Just had a conversation with my Surgery employed Pharmacist. she asked me if I would object to switching from Simvastatin to Atorvastatin as the Simvastatin was rather an old drug. I was put on it around 2007. I told her to go ahead ... no problems. The following quote is what I found during an ultra

GP visit!
So I went to see my GP yesterday and discussed my symptoms, and asked about B12 injections. Got the same old story - test within range, symptoms aren’t bad enough, try oral B12 for three months, despite my explaining that I have low stomach acid and problems with malabsorption, which she again dismissed

Are endocrinologists of any help after ADT?
After ADT, my MO told me that handling things like Prolia management won't be in her bailiwick. I didn't ask about post-ADT SE's and recovery from same. Hot flashes, low T, BMD loss, and last not least sarcopenia. What is the community's experience with how post-treatment SE's are best handled? Are

Hi, everyone. How are you? I just came back from my clinic appointment and was told news I didn't really want to hear. It spread again to one of lymph nodes near right kidney. That made sense why I had a pain there. I was on single dose of celarsertib for a few years. Now it's discontinued. My consultant

APS or sticky blood syndrome
having suffered from PA for 20-30 years was sort of resigned to my fate of suffering from painful arms /hands and general lack of energy , anyway I then develop a Deep Vein Thrombosis in my calf muscle which I am advised could be caused by APS - also an auto immune response - was give Apixaban for
