Anyone on or know of anyone on peptide therapy?
My doctor suggested I go on peptide therapy. Generally speaking these are amino acids that need to be self injected much like an insulin shot over a prescribed schedule of roughly 20-30 days. He heard about this at a conference where discussed with regards to PD. FYI, I was diagnosed 15 months ago,

Vagus Nerve Stimulation for PD
We have posted about the Vagus Nerve and PD before. Here is one article on it: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1935861X20301960 So I was going through my Facebook groups to see what I can cut, and noticed my Vagus Nerve group. It made me put up or shut up and ask the simple question

Thyroid results on combo T4/T3 (please, help)
Hi! I've been officially Hashi hypothyroid for a couple of years. Started my medication journey with levothyroxine (Euthyrox, Letrox), but every new dose would be helpful for just a couple of months, and then a dose increase would go. Last year I started with Prothyrid (Sanofi), a combo T4:T3=100:10

Androgen Receptor [AR] Axis Therapies
Some thoughts on AR-axis therapy (androgen deprivation & AR antagonists) after reading a new assessment of the benefit of second-line drugs [1]. In a sense, I view myself fortunate to have been diagnosed in 2004. When surgery [RP] was not successful (nor salvage radiation) it was suggested that I begin

Re: "A Possible Solution For ... Peripheral Neuropathy ..."
By the time I got around to responding to Nalakrat's post, he had over 3 dozen repiles & who know how many who read but did not respond. On the basis that those people would not get to read a late post, I started this one. I have some interest in this going back to 2016 when my wife was on Velcade,

Zoledronic acid and dental treatment
Good morning all. It's been a while since I have been active on the forum but read it regularly and I am aware that there has been discussion about bisphosphonates and dental treatment. My PMR started 6 years ago and I have been on pred for almost as long. My GP prescribed AA but I was unable to take

Alendronic Acid - any experience
Hi I’ve been in pred since June and just reduced to 7mg. Dr has now prescribed Alendronic Acid and having read the side effects especially on feeling unwell and jaw problems it seems like exchange a hypothetical potential bone issue for a whole loss of prevelant side effects. I have a dental implant

zoledronic acid - stomach pain
Has anyone had terrible stomach pains post zoledronic acid infusion? I had mine on Tuesday and my tummy has been so swollen since I’ve barely slept in agony with my stomach all day long. It’s made my bone pain worse and I feel awful so upset I am worried about the tummy as I have massive gastric problems

Abdominal pain from shots?
I have had constant upper abdominal pain for two weeks. I had been titrating my sc injections because of side effects. I use hydroxy. When I did a 500 mcg. dose the abdominal pain started that day. I waited ten days to do my next shot and only too 250 mcg. My abdominal pain is the same. Nothing else

Alendronic Acid and Hypertension
I am on treatment for hypertension and my blood pressure soared after taking Alendronic Acid. According to some medical papers, it should be given with care to patients with hypertension.

Not sure what to think!
Well I had my first face 2 face oncology appt today, since diagnosis 18 months ago. I saw a member of the team who needed to refer to the consultant. I'm actually feeling very well, even better having had my two weeks in Scotland. And I really haven't had any nasty side effects from ibrance and letrozole

A bit confused
This may be a silly question- one of the reasons I had a dexa scan (alongside long term high dose steroids) was because I suddenly lost over one and a half inches in height. Does this mean I have had spinal compression fractures? If so, do they show upon the dexa scan? Given my t scores and frax prediction

Alendronic acid, Evacal D3 & teeth
I got an appointment to see my dentist next month but have been reading that many dentists are not really aware of osteoporosis, so I'm wondering whether I should be thinking of coming off the drugs, as my teeth have recently become quite sensitive and seem to be getting more so. I haven't got osteoporosis

Constant pain
Hi everyone I’m just waiting for my larproscopy to remove endo scar tissue but I’m in pain all the time. I’m taking mefenamic acid and codeine every single day to function but can still feel the pain. Even doing every day things are a massive chore some days and trying to get through a shift at work

Tranexamic acid
My gp has prescribed this as a way to lighten my periods until the coilis fitted. I don't know when that is. I was reffered in Jun, July and gp said a 6 month waiting list Husband is against this as all his research says about heart attacks and strokes. He also said I have lived with it this long I may

Panic mode activated :(
Feeling very much like a drama queen - but after a year and a half of no periods I bled really heavily last week - so heavily I called doc for tranexamic acid which helped years ago when I eventually had fibroids removed - he didn’t want to chalk it up to a post menopausal bleed as I’m not 50 yet so

Infertility and Endo
Hi all, I have lurked here for some time and worked up to posting. I'm a bit lost with it all. For years I have known something was wrong but having been on the pill for over a decade thought maybe I had indeed 'grown out of it'. However, first cycle post pill and every symptom came back with a vengeance
